View Full Version : Felt door trim?

I looked into this at realoem and found a piece that was over two hundred dollars so I don't know that I found the correct part.

On my car, on the inside door seal, there is a piece of 3/4" wide felt trim that encircles the door. The majority of this trim appears to have come loose from the seal and removed by the previous owner. It doesn't look very good because you can still see bits of discoloration on the seal from where the felt was glued to it. I would like to replace it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a cheap solution?

I can provide pics if I'm being too vague. I'm not sure how better to describe it.

Very nice, DW. We should raise felt. Sounds like a good market to be in.

Has anyone had any success in cleaning up the rubber seal of adhesive and reconditioning the rubber so it looks decent? The felt has been completely removed from mine.

Well, I'll try to pioneer a method, I'll report back if I succeed.

Do you have a local upholstery shop near you?

I've got a place nearby that did some door panels in my wife's car. They normally can do stuff like that. Unless you want OE.

Good point. I'm not concerned so much with OE as just looking good.

Maybe some of that BMW Alcantara cleaner would work.
