Hey everyone, I just bought a 2005 BMW ZHP last night. It's a black sedan with tan interior and I absolutely love it. I've been lurking these forums for a little under a month studying a lot of the DIY posts. I'm going to the MVA today to get tags and registration so I can finally drive it!

Any particular area in MD that you'd like to claim? I commute from PA to Gaitherburg, MD daily... slightly familiar with the area around Bethesda to Frederick.

I'm in the Kensington area of Maryland. I bought the car from a guy in College park. Right now it has 91600 miles on it and I'll post some pics as soon as I can. (The previous owner didn't wash it before selling) So I want to give it a good thorough cleaning first.

I took a couple pictures after I washed it today. The camera on my phone is really bad so the quality isn't that great.

As long as I don't have work the weekend of the event there is a good chance I'll show up. I need to get used to driving a stick first! :blushing

Very cool - my office was across the street from the White Flint metro stop. I used to drive down 97 and come through parts of Kensington when I would drive in.

Recently met another ZHP'er down our way (who not only has a sweet ride) that good recommendations for various vendors (places to get clear bra, tint, paint/body, and paintless dent removal) if you need and don't already have places you trust.

I am heading down to the meet from PA with my family late Thursday night (coordinating with my daughter's bedtime and to miss Friday rush/weekend traffic around DC). You are welcome to follow or head down on your own.

It's so weird hearing from other members so close by. I really don't have a clue where to take my BMW for detailing, so any advice would be appreciated. Getting the car detailed isn't a top priority right now, it was expensive to buy it and I will need to replace the engine cooling system fairly soon. But as soon as that stuff is out of the way I want to pay for a good detailing job.

Cool! Cooling system overhaul is an excellent place to start.

I'll ask about detailers. I don't live here so I haven't sought one out in this area yet. Not sure if VOB BMW or BMW of Silver Spring are running any specials. Do you want a detailer that does paint correction?
