BMW Radio pixels missing randomly

Has anyone ever had a problem with the pixels randomly not lighting up in the radio display? For example, where it shows RND for random, a few are missing up the middle of the N. At the same time, there's a few missing in some other spots all over it. I've noticed it only a few times so far, but I don't drive a whole lot. In Tampa the temperature has been 80 in the day and 50s at night, not sure if this could be temperature related. Any ideas?

I've heard of this happening. Not sure what the reliable fix is, though. There are DIYs out there. I cannot vouch for their success.

This happens to me when it is cold (outside). once the car warms up, they come back. I lose half of my radio station numbers. Guess my car wants to live somewhere else.

It has been in the 40s at night here, so that explains why. I can live with it, it won't be cold for long.
