Is there a significant difference between the curb weight of the coupe and sedan versions of our cars?

Not really. I think no more than 150lb diff. Shooting from the hip though.

Cool. Kind of a random/not vital question but I was curious. Thanks.

BMW claims the sedan and coupe are the same weight but I'm sure there's some small difference, less than 25lb difference though. Convertibles weigh in at another 341lbs. Curb weight on a base 330 Coupe/Sedan is 3285lbs with no options, full tank of gas, no driver. Sunroof = +35, Premium = +~10, Heated & Power Seats = +5, ZHP = +~20.

Why can't someone with a coupe....look at their door jam, and someone with a sedan do the same?

My door jamb has GVWR and GAWR, but not the vehicle weight, unless I missed something.

The weight is not listed on my door jam either. BMW lists both the base sedans and the coupes at 3285lbs, so if it were on the sticker that is most likely what you would see anyway.
i had my car weighed and with no spare or jack, just under a half tank of gas or other extra junk in it, winter ASA JH3 wheels and snow tires it weighed 3,199lbs without me in it.
I weigh 189lbs, car weighs 3,388 lbs with me in it. Add 46 lbs for OEM wheels and OEM size tires (+/- a few pounds here and there for tire weight differences)
I needed this info to dyno the car correctly using the eddy current dyno.

Wow, your cars are pretty light.
For some reason I thought they were in the range of 3300

:blink What options does the car have? I would have never guessed it was that light. Any other modifications to it at the time? Thanks for the info :biggrin

Thanks for posting. So, my AUTO VERT 330 ZHP has over 500+ lbs on a Manual 320 or 325 based on this... wow! (I'm an '06 but it's probably not THAT different).

My car was corner weighted. Results are:
ZHP, options/features:
Xenon lights,
Cold Weather Package (w/ split-fold rear seats)
Smoker's Package
6-speed Manual
Moonroof
H&R Cup Kit
HID fogs
Angel eyes
Figures were before the Dension iPod unit
Total weight, no driver, 1/2 tank gas, no spare, car completely empty, all equipment in place:
3310lbs
Front left: 815lbs, 24.6%
Front right: 856lbs, 25.8%
Front total: 1671lbs
Rear left: 857lbs, 25.8%
Rear right: 782lbs, 23.6%
Rear total: 1639lbs
Not sure why .2% is missing, but whatever
Crossweight: 51.7%
Front: 50.4%
Rear: 49.5%
According to these results, I need to raise the front left and right rear, and lower the front right and rear left.

Because I do not haz coilovers, and that is what I would need to make this adjustable...

So they adjust the weight....by adjusting ride height?

No, it would be adjusting the suspension for weight balance.

That's because English is kind of retarded in a sense that words aren't written the way they're said...
In Hungarian, there isn't a single word you can't spell by just saying it and figuring it out. Everything's spelled exactly the way it sounds based on the alphabet. Why can't English be like that? lol

I had trouble finding exact numbers so I weighed my car today. 3680 with me in it, and a full tank of gas.
Math time. I went to scale right after weighing the car and with my phone, shoes, etc I clocked in at 243lbs. Full 16.9 gallon fuel tank is 99lbs. Leaves a vehicle weight of 3338lbs. I think "curb weight" includes full tank of gas, so my curb weight would be about 3437lbs.
What was in the car?
Everything you leave the dealership with (spare tire and jack, owners manual in the glovebox, floor mats, full fluids like washer fluid etc)
Factory options on my car:
Moon roof
Cold weather package
Manual transmission
Leather interior
Factory blue tooth module
Factory alarm
OEM Single disc CD player
No health kit under the passenger seat
Bi-Xenons
Aftermarket modificaitons I had on the car:
Removed SAP pump (maybe -7lbs?)
TS2 supercharger (maybe +70lbs difference from stock intake parts, including fluids?)
Magnaflow cat-back and ebay headers (maybe -25lbs from stock parts)
Wavetrac LSD with Z4 finned cover (no idea if this weighs any more than the open diff, but it might?)
Hardwired V1
Subframe, sway bar, and rear shock mount reinforcements
That's all I can think of that would possibly effect curb weight.
A bit more than 3285. But I guess the weight of the supercharger and the factory add-on options add up a bit.

Not so surprised at the 320/325 differences. I'm more blown away by the 331 pounds between the coupe and the vert. That's a HUGE difference! There's only 64 pounds' difference between a C7 Corvette coupe and convertible. A C6 convertible was only 20 pounds heavier than a coupe!
I realize the longer-wheelbase four-seat car is going to need more stiffening, but damn... I also know the convertible top, frame, hardware and hydraulics aren't exactly lightweight, but then neither is a big piece of sheet-metal - especially with a sunroof and motor. Even if the convertible top and hardware is 150 pounds heavier than a coupe roof (which I find hard to believe), that means there has to be another 180 pounds' worth of metal work in chassis-stiffening in the vert. Has anybody ever visually compared the undersides of a coupe and vert?
