Is that a fromage look?

This caught my eyes this weekend (not my car). Obviously had enough of an impact in me to get to whip out cell phone and take a pic.

Reminds me of rally cars. Could be neat at night. The big question is, what kind of fromage am I getting into?

I can't really find them for sale anywhere. I guess the guy just put on a regular add-on fog light.

The advantage is that you don't see them too much I guess.

Idk, I think it throws off the look of the front end of the car. Our cars really don't lack light. I travel on some of the darkest roads in Maine and have absolutely no problem :dunno just my opinion though.

It was a very well done job with a horizontal brace and lights on top. The lights might be those but I am not sure.

Haha yeah. First time I had seen one on the road it was about 2am, I was in my Jetta with my best friend. I was in an area where normally, in the Jetta, I would be boogying (speeding) haha. That night I was for some reason doing about 35mph. Sure enough there was an ENORMOUS moose right across the road. Hit the brakes with plenty of distance. And we just gazed like two idiots lol. Did about 10mph for the next 2-3 miles. I do have euro fogs on that car though which are very very very bright!

Frankly, I was not thinking about being able to see better (even though it could not hurt). It was more for the nostalgic, slightly cheezy mod idea.

If more people would post their thoughts, that would be cool.

Do I sense an indirect way to tell me that those rally lights would not "lift the skirt" of my e46?

I didn't actually look closely at the first picture. In particular, my comment was in reference to the lights that are on the outside of the E9 (last picture with Oregon plates). I think those look right on some cars. Definitely looks right on that one.

As for whether I think yours would look good (on the inside of the hood), I prefer these kinds of lights on the outside (on top of the bumper). Just a preference, though.

Yes yes fromage=cheese. I was trying to be French about it I guess, going around to asking the member of the forum whether the fog-lights-behind-the-kidney-grills look was cheesy.

Now in return, please explain why cheesy is used to mean lame, ricey, obnoxious, etc... cause you see, I like cheese and don't like associating it with negative connotations.

I get a feeling those hidden fog might not be cheesy after all.

Honestly I'm not too sure why cheesy is used as a negative term. I guess it's just become a part of pop culture...
