It felt so wrong to drive his car without a baby in the back. But it felt so right when I could get into the back seat with ease because of a separate door that I miss on my M. I was so squeezed into that race seat that I wasn’t going anywhere. He has an M SMG steering wheel installed but not modded to work yet. That didn’t stop me from trying to shift gears with the paddles. [emoji23] I was slightly furious but no fast.

all I see couple of busted old hoe's :)
The silver car got some Arc8 wheels and tires. My imola is getting prepped to be a daily driver again since the black car is going to have the clutch finally replaced.

Ditto... Even though I can get labor at Kristen's dealership for $30 an hour, I imagine the fact that I have the supercharger will add more labor.
Kristen's friend's husband is a really good BMW Indy that offered his garage and help to do my clutch a month or two ago but now they are in the middle of a nasty separation. I'm kicking myself for not taking him up on the offer then.
So now it's my garage and a set of jack stands for me too...

You simply can't compare them in pictures. There are details in the Melbourne you don't notice unless you're standing next to it, like the metallic flake. It really is a beautiful color in person, where in pictures it's "just another red".

Yep the daughters boyfriend had the Toyota Matrix. H stock class. Was close to her. As she left the traction control on. It was a good 5 sec difference in time. I had to turn mine completely off. It was still engaging one the first setting on mine. Something to fix. Suspension was as bad as you would expect for original on 134k miles.

Side note: the birds in our parking lot seem to be really well-fed, so the car is overdue for a good claying. Other than that, the ceramic coating seems to be holding up pretty well after ~10-11 months of daily sun exposure.

I have sticky tires (200 treadwear) on the Arc-8 I want to use specifically for autocross and HPDEs. I won’t be daily’ing them other than to/from an event, or the days around it.
Once I kill the PSS on my Sportlines (or by ~October, whichever comes first) I’m switching to high-performance all-seasons for the Sportlines. Something grippy enough for having fun on backroads, but also capable of handling the cold temps and occasional winter weather we get down here.

Oh man I totally understand. But when you’re in a place with those kind of temperatures and have a garage without drains/the ability to wash inside it’s just not feasible. If I lived up north I would actually have to, GASP, go to a car wash. I’m so ashamed to have typed those words...

You’re lucky I hate Charleston’s heat, or I’d be making threats to come down there [emoji6]
Ah gotcha...
I had conti dws06 tires and they were pretty good. Drove the zhp through a few inches of snow just to see how they handle and they were ok. Never felt like I was not in control. Got about 38k miles on the rears and the fronts were maybe about half worn at the same time. Couldn’t rotate as I had the stock wheels back then.

Nah, I’m not going with Michelins. I have no doubt they’re good tires—in general—but I just can’t justify the Michelin Tax (TM) when I only get half the warranty.

Nope I think they were some other conti’s... some people had flat spotting issues on the older dws but I didn’t have any issues with dws06 while I had them. I even once left the car for 3 weeks in a non heated garage during winter and had no issues when I drove it later...

I really do prefer the aesthetics of the facelift E53, but something about the E70 always did it for me. Probably because I’ve never been in an E53, whereas I’ve spent a lot of time looking at E70s for mi madre.

This page seems to have the details but I don't have time to read through it right now.

Ah, I forgot the GT-Rs didn’t start in ‘93. I expect R33 prices to stay fairly reasonable, since everyone’s going to go berserk for R34s. I’d have no reservations importing another car, but the only non-Skyline JDM car I’m interested in is an S15, which is going to command some stupid money.

This is the general summary from that document:
Final Decision
Accordingly, on the basis of the foregoing, NHTSA hereby rescinds
its decision, granted on November 15, 1999, that 1990-1999 Nissan GTS
and GTR Passenger cars are eligible for importation into the United
States. NHTSA hereby decides that Nissan R33 model GTS and GTR
passenger cars manufactured between January 1996 and June 1998 are
eligible for importation into the United States because they have
safety features that comply with, or are capable of being altered to
comply with, all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

I demoed it at the first Mafia meet back in 2011. I think it was my wife's 325... didn't even clean the dirty bay... just sprayed it down with this and it looked great! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it. I've started using on the jet boat engine and nozzle to protect against salt water corrosion.
Use the purple cleaner... used to be called castrol super clean but now it's something else... to clean the engine bay before spraying with the pro prep. Just spray it on and hose it off about 5 min after applying... doesn't get any easier than that :)

It's a spray so it would be kinda hard to aim without getting on the panels. I imagine you could spray onto a rag and wipe it down. I have used it on interior plastic with great results. should work good though. it turns the faded cabin filter cover black again so I imagine it would do the same for that trim

is it silicone-based? i like silicone-based cleaners for the door seals and interior plastics... it resists dust, and also hydrates the door seals nicely.
EDIT: i see it does contain silicone. it reminds me of motul silicone clean... i loved that stuff. worked soooo well on interior plastics, exterior black trim, door seals, etc... and it smelled great. but it got way too expensive.

Trevor - what do you think of the Tesla? The acceleration is insane, and it’s quiet fast - the ZHP is a keeper though - it’s completely analog vs digital.

Trevor - what do you think of the Tesla? The acceleration is insane, and it’s quiet fast - the ZHP is a keeper though - it’s completely analog vs digital.
Knowing that these are the really expensive Model 3s, they seem to be put together decently. I did notice some crinkling with the rear door seal at the bottom. Not sure if it’s a one of problem or a bad mold. The front seats are comfy and lots of cushion. Not quite the same feeling/firmness as a German performance seat. The back seat is totally opposite and I find that isn’t a good consistency. It’s as if they just designed it in last minute. But they do look nice and they seem comfy enough to be in for long trips.
Looking up in the back seat is what I love. If you own a convertible then maybe it’s not as much as a sensory expansion in my mind. Seeing everything under a slick shiny glass ceiling that molds to the shape of car is beautiful.
The front seat view is just as inviting. I’m sure it’ll take a while to get used to the only screen in the middle like a Toyota Prius/Yaris. It’s very responsive so that’s nice because most cars have a noticeable lag which makes the touch screen experience poorer than it should. It’s so simple up front that it’s just about boring. LOL. At least the sound system is really good!!
That’s all I could experience with the car. Since they are the first load to Vancouver, Canada and they are owned already I could test it. My friend gets the contract to work with Tesla because he’s really good at what he does. He did my car three years ago with XPEL and ceramic in between working with exotic cars often.

I’d lower the Model 3 and stance it. It’s way too high and narrow looking for its 350RWHP and around 400 torque? LOL
I’ve been in an S and X. And both feel super quick and punchy for their size. You’d never know how heavy they are by the way they accelerate and corner.
That’s what I think so far!!
Excuse my tires. I was off-roading in barely graded gravel for 1/2 mile before I got to my friend’s place. [emoji23]

@bmwcurves - actually Monaco Blue since it's a 2006, but it's essentially the continuation of Orient Blue. BTW, I love how your Orient pops in your signature pic - that's how I want mine to look; in photos, I'm a bit jealous of Mystic, but I love the deep blue too

I just completely skipped reading your signature like a complete dolt, could have answered all of my questions :facepalm
Monaco Blue is a gorgeous color. It's slightly different from Orient Blue but not enough to notice unless you have a keen eye. I actually have a shark fin antenna I'm contemplating putting on my car that's Monaco Blue.
My car does not look as good as my pic right now. I really need to have it paint corrected and then ceramic coated.
Mystic Blue has a special place in my heart, I really love the color, but I'd be hard pressed to trade my OB for Mystic.

I love Mystic and Orient so much (almost went to look at a Mystic sedan a few months before I started lighting up Peter’s inbox), but after driving a grey, silver, and bronze car my entire driving life, I needed something less subtle lol.
Actually, the last time anyone in my family had a car not white/silver/grey/bronze/black was in 1991.

That garage has some ridiculously high ceilings, so it’s pretty soft lighting. I need to go back once the Sportlines are back on...and after I find my circular polarizer for this (my favorite) lens.

Estoril and LSB are funny in that they both change A TON under various lighting. Fluorescent lighting, like in the parking garage, really makes EB look a bit like how LSB looks when it’s not in direct sunlight. Obviously on a sunny day they look nothing alike.

Service bay line is backed up all the way outside the doors, and yet there’s only one BMW here not white, silver, grey, or black...

Perhaps we should partly blame bmw for making white and/or black the only cost free color option...

Nah I go to Independence. It’s a lot more convenient for me, and my SA is beyond awesome.

Even the really nicely equipped models are some fancy versions of white, black, or silver...
People have the "resale mentality" when it comes to colors.
People should just buy what they want, to hell with resale... and if they actually want white, black, or silver, then more power to them!
(Easy to say as someone who has only bought used cars lol)

Dude I’m worse, I bought a used black car :rofl
I do see quite a few (relatively speaking) Melbourne red f30s though. But as for the e90/2 non M I can’t remember the last time I saw one that isn’t white, black or silver...

Hey man, I'm all for the whites, silvers, and blacks, as long as those are the intended colors and not chosen for resale value. But, we need more color when it comes to cars. :)

The white M2 is a beautiful machine, no doubt, but between the two LBB was a no brainer.

Here's some cell phone pictures of the 2000 323i Alpine wagon we're almost finished with. What's converted from Auto to manual transmission and we swapped in an s54 SMG which is also converted to manual transmission. M3 brakes LSD steering rack cluster coded with proper miles no check engine light. And a zhp muffler to boot [emoji23]
As soon as I get the dove grey M3 seats recovered this weekend with beige leather covers that are sitting in my garage... I'll get some proper pictures and a Wash and Detail. There's no accidents in a clean Carfax paint has some missing clear coat on the roof and the tailgate. Was definitely a southern car all its life.
It's definitely fun driving this car watching people look over when you take off really quick in a wagon lolhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/4b990afe8415ab21180f136b60639c75.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/687d06aa4de6c46215548c0ea85b8cd2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/97f4507f7bcc5f864c690f054363b714.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/bbdca3518ae55170f874f6ab88db6d85.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/70dbd75dfa9bf1065427cebd5f511194.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/bc837e305fd46ecb5fb1e029be3c193a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/eb7f6367e318c82af9aa25475b9915fe.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/d149447af1de1c1878a477cc90e706ff.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180614/6faff7bc32cbadd91ee7f42204ed0725.jpg

There was about 4 M2s in the paddock this weekend, I think all with modified exhausts. What a friggin’ noise they make. Burbles for days!

My Magnaflow makes a surprising amount of burble at low revs when I lift off. It’s nothing crazy like the M2, but I like it.
Rob, have you had a similar experience?

My UUC TSE3 exhaust has a fair amount of burbles at low RPM and I lift off the throttle. I really didn’t like it at first, but it’s grown on me significantly.

Now that you say that, I think I remember watching a one of Curves clips on YouTube. I think it was a combo of the Corsa and gruppe M intake.
If anyone has any other clips, let’s hear them!

No burbling at all and mine is identical to yours but I have headers

Hey at least it doesn’t sound flatulent like this F82 from the track this weekend.

Hmm, perhaps a combo of the headers+S/C?
They’re a little faint, but they are there. I just have the exhaust + aFe intake.

Definitely this. My only gripe with this though is that it doesn't always burble, only in certain atmospheric conditions.

I did the muffler delete... It makes a little bit of a burble at low rpm when coasting in 1st, but that’s about it.

is the burbling a result of what gets done with the exhaust or does the intake or any other mods have an impact?
