Amber Switchbacks...so they can go white or amber. They're normally set for turn signals but that looks too gimmicky so I set it to a switch so I can use either depending on what I'm feeling. Amber means get out of my way...while White is used to show up at an evening ball into an undercover drive through lobby of the Westin. LOL

haha thats awesome. The amber on blue looks fantastic. I have gold V2s that I'm going to put in to my new ALs that are coming in. It should give a nice updated OEM+ look.

I really wanted to do some amber AEs (or 3000k like the BMW endurance cars have) but I just can’t get down with the AEs on facelift coupes. The full circles simply don’t do it for me.

It’s funny I wasn’t even looking for a coupe when I first PM’d Peter. Or blue. I absolutely love my car; even if/when it falls out of daily duties I don’t want to ever let it go. But I’d be full of shit if I said I don’t have sedan envy more often than I’d care to admit.

oh i was talking about driver ergonomics... the coupe still has a darn impressive amount of utility! if it didn't have fold-down rear seats, then it wouldn't of course... but those things combined with a good-sized trunk and the ability to easily add a roof rack make it super flexible. i just can't drive it. ;)

At $50 and with only a 6 month warranty they sound kind of sketchy. I wonder why they are so much less than the other AE’s...The Umnitzas and others are $200+.

$90 is really reasonable. I bought my first pair of angel eyes from Khoalty for about the same price. The newer gen ones are identical and are now like $130. Umnitza makes good stuff, but they remind me of Apple products. Your paying a lot for just the name, other products work great without any issues.

My friend got the same switchbacks for like $30 on eBay. Exactly same design so I’m sure our guy may get them from a similar source. Its all about the mark up and service game. lol.

I did have one eye that had two malfunctioning white LEDs. I got that warrantied. He said it was rare to even have that problem. The amber side is flawless on my one bad ring though!

Yes; Orion is Umnitza's product.

They may be pricey, but from I've seen, the Orion V4's do it better than most others. The LED density is high enough where you can't see the individual LEDs from past a couple of feet.

Those were VMR V703's. Thinner spokes but much heavier than the Sportlines.

I’m ordering some UHP A/S rubber tonight for the Sportlines to replace some horrid PSS. By all accounts I have ~40% meat left, but they are walking all over the damn place. Date code is 2012, and I drove them this winter which no doubt didn’t help, but they’re honestly scary. Putting on these Hankooks was like driving a completely different car.

Edit: William I feel like that’s the most idyllic parking spot in the city.

Maybe the PSS’s are getting old and that’s why the Tire Rack is discounting them...

My PSS have a 2011 build date. lol. I just wheel hop whenever I apply too much throttle in a straight line. In the dry I can’t find the limit and sometimes it can be downright scary when I’m trailbraking hard into a curve. But the wet driftability is great! No hop and all fun! [emoji23]

It’s all personal choice! You can do a lot of cool stuff with filters. Personally, I would add a greater verity of colors and brighter ones.

H&R Sports. It has a little more rake/slightly lower nose than the picture shows, but my driveway is inclined so it shifts the weight a little.

Definitely need to update the sig, but I still have the Sportlines too! They’re getting UHP A/S tires soon...whenever I get around to it.

it's entirely possible whoever ordered/replaced the springs for the PO got the standard springs, not the sport/ZHP springs. they are easy enough to swap out, and i'm sure you could find some lightly used ones on this forum.

personally i would avoid H&R springs, i really don't like how they ride (too soft and too low, generally), and they do not do a good job preserving correct F/R spring ratio (always too soft in the rear, and waaaay too progressive). this is all based on my own experience with them on several cars. if i would going to buy a pure lowering spring (as opposed to a custom height-adjustable coilover setup), i would use eibach pro-kits. eibach, in my experience, always does a great job with preserving the OEM spring rate balance, albeit a little stiffer, and they are generally as linear in nature as stock springs.

No - it's not that much higher in the rear. It's like the newer springs haven't settled as much as the original front springs, so the rears are a tad higher.

The car's design is a bit of an optical illusion, and that last image you posted is a good example; Using the curb as a reference you can see the rocker is probably an inch higher in the rear, but the rear wheel arch is lower than the front. (Both lines in the photo below are parallel with the curb beyond.)

Looking at the unedited photo though, my eye follows the the body lines, which definitely rake up toward the rear. I don't really perceive the wheel arch height difference... Maybe it's just me. I'll have to get a good side shot of my car on level ground and compare it to others.

Decided to try out the new Griot’s Best of Show Detailer but, first I had to remove the layer of yellow pollen with the California Duster!

End results tell me that maybe I don’t need to do that paint correction this year, after all.

Yeh, luv the Best of Show stuff! I have done the complete compound with the triple coat of the Best of Show wax! It just doesn’t get any better than that!

Im committed to wrapping up school stuff over the next 3 weeks and then we're hopefully moving into a house shortly after that. but i plan on having a date with my GG 6-inch RO. I've had the BOSSystem sitting in a box at my parents house waiting for me. Not to mention the leatherique kit thats still in its wrapping since last summer. I still haven't done a proper shoot with my car and it's killing me.

School is cool! When you get to it and if you have the time and ability to be without the car for a few days; do the complete compound followed by the three coats of Best of Show wax. I believe their recommend time between coats is measured in days not hours.

It's been cool for far longer than it had to be lol. My plan it to start with the BOSS fast correcting cream, move to the BOSS perfecting cream and wrap it up with the BOSS sealant. I started a paint correcting last year but never followed through. I'd like to give it another shot, seeing as how I'll finally have my own garage to work in. I'm considering doing a ceramic coating. I suspect if i go though route I could most likely hold off on the sealant right?

When the F10M came out and I romped on it I didn’t feel much emotion or inspiration from it. Only blisteringly fast acceleration that only felt like a single handed caress from the M Gods.

After today with the new one. I was giggling the whole time. Everyone was smiling ear to ear. Six hundred HP is ridiculous but that’s what it seems is needed to cut through all that technology and sound deadening BS. I for sure felt a shining soul in this car. [emoji56]

Nice job! I dabbled in long exposure photography many years ago...Used to shoot from a slightly higher angle and use a flash under the car. Produced some pretty cool results. Mind you this was back when we used a thing called “film” so you didn’t get to see the results until after it was developed. :cool I have a 5dmkiii now, so I should try some LE shots again - maybe after I get the Sportlines installed...

Scored it thru my friend who works at DeWalt here in Towson on Employee sale day (Happens two weekends a year) for $260. This was, believe it or not, my first time using a power saw, and I laughed like a mad man after my first cut!

It’s been about 10 years since I’ve done any kind of light painting, and about 5 years since I’ve done any kind of long exposure photography. My battery lasted one exposure, and my technique was horrible, but still felt like posting. I’m curious to see what I can do with it in Adobe.

Not only has the ZHP reinvigorated my passion for cars, it has gotten me to start dabbling in photography again, which I used to really enjoy.

That's a cool shot. It makes your paint look amazingly glossy.

I’m torn between whether I want (read: must own) an E21 or E30.

I'm an E-21 fan personally. I like the E-30s a lot but I usually see them all the time. The E-21 however, you'll rarely see.
While they can be frustrating at times, they're not difficult to work on and are great little cars. I had two 320is' and I regret selling them every day.
