Lol The shop I go to always cover the seats in plastic so they don't mess anything up. It's pretty regular in every shop that I've been too. Even when I just go get an oil change. Only the driver side.

Thanks man! Looks better in person! Especially with the cinnamon seats. Maybe it's just because I mounted them on the other day but I'm thinking these wheels look best on the e46 compared the the CSL wheels I had. Hard choice tho. I've had almost everyone tell me they like the CSL wheels more. But personally I'm loving my CH wheels.

And there not Reps so I feel better lol

LOL...they did drift nicely to the right on a launch from 2000RPM last night on a highway. No wheel hop...and silent spin goodness! Then they owned a twisty road that I completely underestimated what a lightweight wheel and grippy tire will do.

Lol I bought my car on the phone from a VW dealer in Pensacola FL, a few miles southeast of Mobile, AL

I had found a black/PB Auto with OEM Nav sedan, but they wanted more money than the Imola I ended up with, not to mention mine is a 6 speed

Worth every penny despite my ongoing clear coat issues

Thanks man. Going to install the Red Caps and Black BBS Lugs soon after I get my studs. Going to add 5mm spacers in the back and 10mm spacers in the front and camber it some more. Let's see how it'll end up.

Every time I look at my mirrors, I get a bit annoyed that the PO that did the mirrors 1) did a shitty job retrofitting them, and 2) decided to have red bases. It looks terrible; I wish he chose black bases. :(

Every time I look at my mirrors, I get a bit annoyed that the PO that did the mirrors 1) did a shitty job retrofitting them, and 2) decided to have red bases. It looks terrible; I wish he chose black bases. :(

yep, and some awesome roads to get there, too! we usually go through lake placid on our way to/from VT. it takes a little longer than the other way we used to go, but the roads are worth it!

I haven't had a chance to see how poorly I did with the ceramic. I'm just assuming I did, as it was my first experience with it outside of coating wheels. It seemed very straightforward, but the warm temperatures and high humidity definitely impacted the cure times. We'll see how the closeup inspection looks, but from a distance it has some very nice reflectivity.

If I was going darker than LMB I'd go Avus every time (99% sure ZHPizza would back me up on that one). Interlagos is a pretty color, but luckily BMW has made a shitload of blues over the years so we can all be happy!

I haven't had a chance to see how poorly I did with the ceramic. I'm just assuming I did, as it was my first experience with it outside of coating wheels. It seemed very straightforward, but the warm temperatures and high humidity definitely impacted the cure times. We'll see how the closeup inspection looks, but from a distance it has some very nice reflectivity.

Talk about even; with HID D2S bulbs, the FX-R v1's are known for having a dead spot directly in front of the car. Call it a lack of foreground.
Once I put these in, that foreground light was all there. It's weird how that happened.

The reach isn't quite as far as factory, but they're close enough where I haven't had the desire to switch back. They're a tiny bit dimmer on the far end, but same story; not enough of a difference to want to revert. I'm pretty darned happy with these.

I love having LED flash-to-pass with the projectors. They work a lot better than the LED H7's I have. :)

When I eventually get around to replacing the 13 year old D2S bulbs on my car, I will go with these bulbs. Thanks for beta testing all these bulbs on our behalf :)

Thanks! And I'm dying for a paint correction.. I got quoted like $1,200 from some professional shop and like $600 from a friend. How much do paint corrections even cost? I've never done any work to my paint in the 7 years of ownership. It's just now that I'm learning about paint and like detailer stuff. You may not see it but it has swirls for days..

The 1,200 for a full correction sounds about right if the paint has never been corrected before and depending on what level of perfection you're willing to accept in the finished product. If you ask the person who quoted you 1,200 if that's a 1 step or several step process, that could give you more info. If it's just a 1 step, then it's a bit steep considering the paint won't be over, say, 85% corrected. I'm pulling that number out of nowhere as a way to say there is no one step correction that will get your paint to above 95% corrected.

Once it's done and you know how to clean the car properly, you should last a long time! If you're getting professional paint correction just add ceramic on top to make cleaning easy!

I just use a towel and running water. I use soap on heavily caked on dirt which hardly ever happens.

Honestly for that age with no care, 3 step correction is what I'd expect, with maybe a 4th in localized areas. A cutting compound, and 2 steps of polish with decreasing abrasiveness. BMW paint isn't very soft, and getting paint defects out is definitely more work than on other cars.

My car is always uptown. I'm never really below like 140st. You can always confirm it's my car because of that ZHP LIFE plate.

And that's great about Zef he's a real cool guy. You'd be surprise how cheap and good you can get stuff done for at a fraction of the price just networking on Instagram. I have an official shop I go to and keep everything done to my car documented.

But this year I've barley gone to the shop because I bought my own tools and DIY videos everywhere. On top of that I've actually been going to a couple of car meets and meeting and talking to people in the community. Actually just met a guy with a turbo powered white zhp [emoji102]. Gotta put him on to the forums. Lol if I want anything done or help I just ask around.
