What I meant by that comment is that ZHP's can't usually be obtained cheap enough to be able to do maintenance on them and sell them for a profit, considering what most ZHPs are valued at. That is why I am surprised that you were looking to make a profit - buying parts adds up, even if you're doing all the work. Whether or not I think $13,500 is reasonable is not something I'm going to comment on, just wanted to clarify my comment since you weren't sure what I meant by it.
I just didn't think you could have gotten a good enough deal on the Estoril ZHP to be able to make any profit on it considering its decent condition at purchase, that's all.

part of it is a labor of love, obviously. i love doing it. but i also have to pay myself for my time, so i would never take on a project if i didn't think it was feasible to do so. i will admit that with this car, i was smitten from the first time i saw it - and we all know that sometimes that can get you into trouble. :)

Us S54s get no spare because the quad exhaust design doesn't allow enough room for even a donut so we get a compressor with goo to help seal a tire on the run just enough to get it fixed. I have my donut from my ZHP that I dump into the M3 trunk if I'm going on a long road trip. I also have a full patch kit to repair a tire as first choice over a spare.
I just cleaned her after the rain. It's going to be cold and dry next week so I wanted her clean and seals all dry for the freeze!

I'm with ya. We still have a few snowfalls and some ice storms but, nothing like Northern OH and my old home town of Buffalo, NY.
We're still in the 50s and 40s with a few cold mornings in the 20s. We didn't have any rain for the last two weeks of September or any of October, until last week when the rains started and brought a few tornados with them. Crazy weather with the high threat of wildfires one week and a day later heavy thunderstorms and tornados.

Now I finally know what an LSD is like in the snow. It accelerates better and you can drift like a jetliner landing in a 60mph sideways crosswind.

Got some great shots up at the mountain that I was snowboarding at. Ended up pulling over in the middle of traffic to an old barn just to get a couple pictures. All taken with my new camera, Canon T6i on an 18-55mm kit lens, bought it for myself for my birthday

Haha that's an accurate statement, I personally hate the place, man made garbage, but that's where all my friends go and it has a nice park area which is all I go for anyway. And it's close by, so can't argue with a 45min drive versus a couple hours

Where did you find that mountain? Though it is just a bit taller than the hill in the local forest preserve.

I have been getting more into photography recently too. It's quickly becoming quite addictive lol. For me personally I like photos where it's not obvious that they've been edited, I think tools like Lightroom need to be used to enhance the image but not change it completely, but that's just me. Coming to the gear I have -
Nikon D5000 (quite a bit old, waiting for Nikon to release the D7300)
18-55 mm kit lens
Nikkor 50mm f1.8
Tokina 11-16 f2.8
Looking at buying the sigma 18-35 f1.8 next

The Nikkor 50/1.8 is the best lens money can buy. Nikon's f/1.8 glass is so sharp it makes the f/1.4 stuff a total waste of money (opposite is true for Canon).
I have a rather extensive background in photography, and I'm a total snob about full frame and prime lenses [emoji15]

I know right? The images from the 1.8 are unbelievably sharp. I mean for about $200 it's the best lens you can buy as you said.
I did think about getting a full frame next but decided to get D7300 (yes Nikon I'm waiting!) or a D500 (if I get a good deal) because I think the prices of the full frame lens are hard for me to justify... I wish all of them were as cheap as he 50mm lol

Though since my camera is APS-C, I'm missing a bit of usability. The choices below 50mm get slimmer and $$$ for the legacy lenses.

The 35/1.8 was made to be the APS-C equivalent of a 50mm lens on full frame (35*1.5=52.5mm). It's such a great focal length for an all purpose lens.

So I'm looking at a camera for good high ISO performance and while I think the D72(3)00 is good enough I just kept thinking if I should just spend the extra cash and go for the D500 because it seems like a step above any other crop sensor camera...

I have a cheapo dolica tripod I picked up from Amazon lol. bought it when I wasn't sure if would be really interested in photography...
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If they still make it, I would highly recommend a Slik 330 DX Pro for the best sub-$100 tripod. I still have mine (if you're interested) but a D700 with vertical grip and lens is close to its max weight.
I bought a lot of nice gear when I had a great employee pricing plan. Half of it I could never afford at retail pricing. But we got ~50% off Bogen/Manfrotto.

Never used an a6000 but a friend of mine recently replaced his D7100 with Sony a6300. I was a really impressed by its size and its performance especially the video quality. But Sony lens are so expensive and so good!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, it performs pretty well. The size is the main reason for going with a mirrorless cameria. The autofocus is supposed to be pretty good in these cameras. I also like the telephoto lens that came in the kit.
I'm planning on keeping this for a while, though the a6500 is looking pretty nice. The in-body stabilization and touchscreen are two features I would like, but not for $1,400.

That blue color just has me drooling. Yeah when the light isn't sharp so the metallic flecks don't sparkle, the paint will give off an LSB similarity. Especially when you don't wash it in the winter. LOL
But once I add sharp light like stobes or the sun....

yea the X5 was a maintenance nightmare But it had 360 HP, luxury, cloth interior, heated front and back seats, heated steering wheel, etc. 6000 lb towing capacity massive tires and a tail gate! The exhaust note sounded like the V8 engine over dub you hear in every action movie
This was the interior when we got it... you can't really see the blue in the cloth centers of the seats.

heck yeah, that thing is bad A. love it! but.... selling was probably a good idea if it was a maintenance nightmare - as you know, with babies/small kids, you've got nearly zero time to work on stuff. you're either working, changing diapers, feeding, playing, or sleeping. good times, though. :)

Make sure you're actually anchored in the metal or it'll rip the plastic out of the headliner and it'll never fit quite right again.
Edit: ask me how I know
