On weekends when the weather is nice it can be pretty crowded out there. On weekdays there are few enough people that one can enjoy the drive a little more.

Well they're dirty, so no concerns about them getting more dirty. Also, not pulling them into the garage helps to prevent heat soaking my AC unit for the house. Keeps the house cooler. Besides, with them both outside, photo op. [emoji16]

This is a bit south of what I usually consider to be Big Sur, but yes it's definitely that road. I've been the motion sick passenger (I was a sensitive child), but I wouldn't have much patience for that myself. Not sure how my parents put up with me as a kid.

The day has come.

Went to meet a guy about a basketcase ZHP, DIY wiring, bumpers hanging off, slammed and dragging, things not working. I have been working and waiting on this for 5 weeks, and honestly had big plans for that car as an HPDE rat. I traveled over an hour to his CU, and the deal fell through on his end! FAIL.

Called a guy that I had been talking with for the past month, finally got in range of a great deal (high 4-figures, woot!), met him, and pulled the trigger... So welcome the new addition:

Cons:

No winter package.
2003, no premium package, i.e. no auto headlamps.
Leather. Would've liked alacantara, car I tried to buy earlier in the day had alacantara.
3 or 4 scratch-dings that PDR cannot fix.
headlight lenses pitted.
higher initial cost, so mod plans have been set back slightly.



All in all, the cons are no biggie.

Pros:

car is tight!
clutch is great!
records!
106k
V12 Evos!
stock right down to the chrome kidneys.
steering wheel can probably be saved by cleaning.
ok that I can't mod the crap out of it, because it is truly one amazing DD as it sits. I fell in love with these all over again on the drive home.


Even with the cons, the car is a solid 8/10 imho, and well worth the extra I paid over the mousetrap I was looking at.

She's home fellas.

Best combined estimated range so far (today marks one week of ownership), thats an estimated 180 miles of range in eco pro +, which surprisingly I use more often than I thought I would. Takes about 1% to get to work, but oddly took 3% to get back, grades are about equal both ways. I've done nearly 800 miles in the first 8 days of ownership, 425'ish were done the first day. Car has completely exceeded my expectations, I really do like it a lot.

From Saturday, took ownership of a sterling silver on black 318iS!

I could not resist, I don't know if I have ever seen a silver E30 in person, and it was my all time favorite, the 1991 318is. Im excited to fix it. Oil looks like milkshake, so time to pull the head and get to work! Wasn't overheated ever so that's good. Also going to get rid of "the mess under the intake", which basically deletes the throttle body heater and some other misc hoses and lines under the manifold.
