BP I always thought if race cars have slicks in the dry and tread in the wet, that applied to any rubber burning machine. LOL. The amount of grip I get from these RE050 tires is fantastic right now and it's nice and predictable on edge as well as when it's left the edge. Haha.

One thing I will enjoy is the extra tread of my DW's for cushioning small/sharp bumps. Having much less tread on the current rubber is somewhat jarring at times.

Race car slicks use a different compound. It's ultra soft and sticky, and is designed to be run like that. The life of R-compound tires is measured in either days/heat cycles/seasons (depending on how much it's used) rather than miles, kind of like how a race car engine's life is measured in hours and not in miles, all because of their level of performance. Awesome grip, but very short life.

A regular tire with no tread is not designed to be run like that, and can have unpredictable handling characteristics as a result. I guess you got lucky with your tires doing so well when worn out, but let it be known that they're not supposed to be run like that and still provide predictable and safe performance.

LOL I suspect I'm changing within a week or two as the forecast shows sign of wet. Once that happens in getting rid of these tires as they don't paddle water out of the way nearly as well as meaty rubber. LOL.

I drive slow most of the time. 9.1L/100km. How horrible is that for an S54!!

Yes, sorry for the typ0. :-) It sounded to me like you had tint applied and then the Airblue 80. Did you put it on the windshield also? I've hear of some ppl putting clear UV film there.

Yes we put intron the windshield too. The stuff really helps with heat and UV, and you can't see it at all, so it doesn't restrict visibility.

Keep in kind, it has a lifetime warranty against defects. This basically includes everything but scratches. Labor and material... So, to me it is well worth it. That includes the FormulaOne Pinnacle.

But for close to $1000 I would agree that guy got taken advantage of.

A crater by the looks of it. This happened around 2:30am last night. Didn't receive a tow until around 5:30 and arrived home around 7am. $70 and 2 bent wheels later, I'm whipping around in a rental Chevy Cruze for the week. Not sure if they can even be repaired, so I guess its time to go wheel shopping.

While these wheels are extremely good looking, they are extremely easy to bend and crack. Don't feel bad about ditching them for a set of lighter stronger wheels. Your luck will change.

Nice job!! If all you have is what the city gives you for lighting then try to position the car evenly in between two lights. When you do a time exposed shot the light will evenly lit up the rear and front of the car.

You could also take a flashlight with you and "paint the car" with light (from a distance/angle to avoids glare). It really helps the wheels/headlights pop out. If you want to get really artsy, then while your cameras shudder is open, unlock and lock your car to trigger the interior lights. That might be coo :)

The issue is that the potato's shutter can't be controlled to be open longer, which is what is needed for more light to be absorbed by the sensor. As a result, pictures taken in the dark tend to stay pretty dark without the flash.

I'm actually impressed it captured that much light. My potato doesn't seem to do that well in low light...

Lol yes it was :P. That was wash the dust off day. Today was wash and wax day XP. Also I use cleaning the car as a chance to zone out for a bit and just...chill. I don't have a yard to work in right now or a house to do things to so I work on the car lol. Keeps my mind active on a task while allowing me to let the rest of my mind veg out.

One of the exterior lights here at the station gives off a neat aquamarine glow and I happened to park the car under it while closing the stall door. So I had to take a shot.

i fit 4 x 4' fluorescent shop lights, 50sq/ft of dri-core subfloor panels, 10 x 4' T8 bulbs and 3 big bags of groceries. :) (to be fair i did fold part of the backseat down for the 4' lights). lots of room left in there too!

that is crud from 5-6 days straight of rain and not being washed since our trip to PEI a month ago! (which has red sand everywhere)

hoping to get it washed/waxed/detailed this weekend, if i have time.

yaaa!! it is quite amazing how absolutely massive they look, and by that i mean they look perfect. :)

just went out for a rain drive, they hook up really nicely - no traction control kicking in on a normal 1000-6800rpm 1st gear take-off. :) surprising!

My car just survived a 50mph windstorm. So it will not be joining the other Estoril ///M in the local wreck lot. My car is official the only Estoril Coupe in Vancouver.

Trying to get more details. My friend and I are under a group effort to purchase it. It looks like the driver full lock drifted over a curb sideways as 3 corners have destroyed tires and wheels. Headlights are taken out on both sides but the middle front is only minor but there is no front bumper left. Sides are fine but obviously there is a frame bend because the car has a slight fold/stretch mark from the passenger side bottom. Rear diffuser is half off the bumper but I see exhaust, BBK, Estoril CSL trunk lid, and coils or springs done to it. Another friend is trying to snag it too and it's a silent bidding war. We'll get to the bottom of this wrecked vehicle. If we get it. MOD time!!!!
