Thanks!

Yeah it was pretty noticeable the difference in ride height. That's the 4th ZHP I've seen on base since the warm weather started this year. Still have yet to find a coupe though. All have been sedans and this is the first one that looks like the owner actually somewhat takes care of it.

I do that as well in parking lots and such, but when you're doing 30+ on the road it's not really possible to go sideways over them so that's why I weight transfer my car

I ended up purchasing springs from TC Kline to finish off the coilovers. I originally wasn't going to go this route because they said I would need camber plates. It turns out that the first guy I talked to thought they were going on an M3, so they're not necessary.

I bought them through a shop in Sacramento that got me a screamin deal. They were shipped to me straight from AG though. I didn't know I was supposed to get BMW caps with them. Where'd you buy yours from? Did they come with m badges too?

I paid $840, which included CA sales tax and shipping. From what I hear it was a pretty sweet deal. If I purchased from ModBargains I would've spent $1100 + tax.
I guess I might be giving AG a call. Did you purchase them straight from AG?

My wheels didn't come with caps. Ass hole seller screwed me. So I looked on eBay and they have 4 packs for like $15.

No... And that is a good deal considering the insane sales tax in CA. I paid $900 to my door, not from AG.

So, I'm in to work early this morning and take my usual Waldo spot in the center far side. When I went out to grab lunch, Lee is parked next to me. Then I head out a little after 3 and now Larry's next to Lee's.

Yeah there is. Today was my first day out with the new camera and I'm still getting used to it. My most recent SLR is a 35mm and very old so I'm adapting to the new digital. For those pictures I left the dynamic range on. So I'll be toying with tne individual modes and settings to obtain better quality.

I find lowering the "dynamic range" settings to the lowest setting or OFF helps reduce noise in the shadows. Deal with shadows in post later if needed.

I can definitely tell it's in HDR mode. Surprisingly strong for an in-camera mode.
Do you know how it works? I'm thinking it shoots RAW and does the tone maping in camera.
Fenrir
07-26-2014, 11:27 PM
Actually it doesn't have raw capability. That was just a quick shot left in intelligent mode. Here are the specs. https://docs.sony.com/release/specs/DSCHX1_mksp.pdf

If it was HDR the tree would most likely be lighter/have more visible detail. But that is different than DR - I believe dynamic range boosts ISO to get more details out of the darker spots in the photo as oppose to multiple exposures. As for noise, you might also try setting it to M (manual mode - if it has it) and then turning the ISO down and the shutter speed slightly to compensate.

Started out as temps/winter set as they are strong and lighter than stock. Unfortunately finances changed and fun money got diverted into the fund for a practice I am buying so they graduated to full time wheels until the acquisition of my practice is complete.

those mirrors look great!
we are visiting my father this week, here's a crude iPhone-through-a-window-screen shot of the ZHP and his 1-of-1 glut orange RS4 cabriolet. he just picked up those 19" BBS CH wheels w/ PSS. it's pretty quick! not pictured is my step-mom's '09 Cayenne Turbo S, which is also ridiculous...

+1 on the mirrors. Cool cars. "glut" orange? Is that an autocorrect or the actual name?

Drought? Perhaps it's time to buy some ONR. :)
You only need about 3-4 gallons if you're using the two bucket method. ;)

yep, that's the actual name. it was a special-order color, and apparently out of only ~150 RS4 cabs that came to north america, it's the only glut orange one. pretty cool!
the car is a beast, and feels very 'un-audi', which is a good thing - extremely neutral, great turn-in, very flat cornering. the sound of its' 8K rpm-revving V8 is amazing.
i would love a sedan version (my kids fit in the back of the cabriolet, but it's far from practical!), but the gas mileage is atrocious - my father is averaging 275 miles/tank. yikes!!

All of mine were loose too when I investigated a leak, I tightened all of the ones I could get to (any tips to get to the ones on the top without dropping it?), cleaned it all up and in about a month I was spotting again, probably a bad gasket in there. Maybe you'll have better luck than I. I've just been checking the level every 3-4 months and adding any if necessary. Maybe I'll hit the lotto soon and be able to swap it out for LSD.

Only if it's the new formula that comes in the whitish contoured bottle. The old one in the grey bottle is the old formula.
They stopped making the old one quite some time ago so what you can get in the dealer should be the correct one. I HIGHLY recommend you get a good sprayer bottle to put it in because the below pictured bottle has a terrible sprayer on it. It doesn't spray, it streams...

Sonax by the gallon is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, but definitely cheaper since it's in bulk. I'll probably end up buying it by the gallon one day!
