View Full Version : Friday night (could be down for 15 minutes-30 minutes) -- 10pm EDT

On Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10pm EDT, my host will be migrating to a newly provisioned host server. My host does not expect my downtime to be longer than 15 minutes -- but could last as long as 30 minutes (rare and not expected).

Quick update: The server migration (with my host's server -- not mine) starts at 10 pm EDT. Doesn't mean ZHPMafia.com will go down at that time. But expect us to suffer an outage, at some point, for about 15 minutes.

The later this happens, the better. The site starts to slow down about 1 AM EDT. It would be nice if the site's outage takes place after that.

Migration is complete.

From my host: "Your server has already been migrated. Because of the small size of your server (about 4Gb and less than 200k inodes), the migration process took only 11 minutes to complete and the server was down for under one minute."

Well, trust me. I did not do anything on my end. All I did was keep you guys in the loop on how long we could be down. Turned out that we were down for about 20 seconds. I never noticed it on my end.
