View Full Version : I have a question about this BMW 330 ZHP...pic inside

I'm looking at buying this ZHP. The owner sent me some more detailed pictures of it and this spot on the rim stuck out. It is the front drivers side rim. What could this be? I'm thinking brake fluid. He said he is taking it to the dealer to have it looked at/fixed this week.

Looks like it ate the paint? Brake cleaner that was left on there maybe? Either way, those wheels are filthy.

It does look like the paint was eaten off. I'd suspect brake fluid, spill or leaky caliper maybe.

What's the history of the car? Any track pads used on it by any chance? Some of them make dust that is not kind to wheels. That would be my second guess.

Yeah, it can be on certain things. I could see it eating thru a few coats on our wheels.
