These will fit many different models of BMW's. Throw me some offers peeps. Rims are 17x8.
Complete set of wheels to give your car a makeover
Very aggresive fitment for the E46 standard body, but can be pulled off with proper tires & rolling of fenders. Greatly depends on how low your E46 is.
Looking for a new set of wheels? How about a set of 17" Genuine Style 71 2 Piece wheels with center caps for a fraction of the price. This is a perfect replacement set for your curbed, bent up set of wheels or just to bump up your

$695 is what they were going for on ECSTuning. This was 59% off of normal price. They no longer have the 17" rims in stock.
The first reasonable offer will be closely evaluated for sale. Please help me get these out of my garage.
Thanks for looking.

Additionally...price above reflects what Luke paid. $499.00, but he had to pay shipping as well.
I will persuade him to take the first offer at $575.00 for local pickup.
Above price edited to reflect what he paid...plus half his shipping. You will never get a OEM BMW rim for that, and probably would be hard pressed to get a set for under $1000.00

Exciting! BTW, what's the offset on the wheels, and are they staggered or square?
Oh, duh...look at the header, Meesh. Do those even fit a ZHP?

They will fit a stock height zhp. Lowered zhp would require rolling the fender. Tempted to pull one of my tires and throw these on for visual representation. I just don't wanna put any lil scratches in them....

I always loved Style 71's. I would entertain a trade if he was willing, but I don't think that is going to happen.
When my tires get low on tread, I'd like to pick up a set of 71's. I seriously doubt he/you'd be willing to wait for that, would y'all? Would probably happen by mid-end of summer.

05-01-2011, 03:08 PM
Dane,
Giving it a couple of minutes to think about it, I now know that I definitely want these wheels. My issue is whether they will rub. I already have rolled fenders, and I know that with my Kosei K1s on, it rubs in the back every time I go over a moderate/large bump. The offset on those is much higher than the ET20 of the 71's. Wouldn't this just guarantee a rub? My car is also lowered, as you know, which doesn't help the situation...
I'm going to do some more research. If I find that it doesn't rub, would you guys be willing to accept a promise to buy when the meet comes around? I'd like to pick them up then and pay the cash for it on the spot...
Marcus-SanDiego
05-01-2011, 03:10 PM
And, BP, if you do end up buying these at the meet, you most certainly will have to find a way to get them installed while we are there. hehe. Ship your 135s back home. FTW.
mimalmo
05-01-2011, 03:13 PM
Dane, put those on your car; they look baller as hell. When there are tires on them and the car is on the ground, the poke won't be as pronounced.

Either way, I want to pick these up from you at the meet, definitely, unless you reeeeeeeally want them. I just all of a sudden got the itch for Style 71's when I saw them on an E46 ZSP on the way to Long Island the other day. I'm really itchin' now. lol

:word I know I'm not going to enjoy cleaning them... but I've always had a soft spot for turbine wheels... especially Alpinas on an e30. Now that its warm, I'm going to try cleaning up the 73s that I picked up and see how they turn out. If they are really trashed and I can't fix them... then I'll look to pick up something else.

I think not, sir Wilson. Not without going back to, at a minimum, stock height...
From what I've been reading, the only way to get these to fit with a lowered car is to get some very skinny tires and stretch the hell out of them. I don't know about you, but me no likely the stretch look, and I want some meat on my tires.
If you can live with that, more power to you. I found countless ET20 wheels for sale, but only found two sets of the correct offset within a somewhat reasonable price. One's on eBay, and I sent the guy a message to see if he'd be willing to trade, but I seriously doubt it, so that'll be that.
I may be listing my wheels for sale here soon...

Just so that we are all clear and can visualize what these rims would look like with a stock ride height fitment....here goes.
The rims below (on the rear) are 18x9 with an ET35 offset. The rims for sale....in this thread are 17x8 with an ET20 offset.
Thread below provided for verification.
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1648018
Plugging those into the below calculator, yields....you will have a greater clearance on the inner edge...and...the rim will be out from the fender by 2mm's.
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
So....2mm beyond what you see below. I think that's actually pretty nice fitment.

It doesn't matter, because it's an auction ending in 5 days and I can't afford even the $450 right now. This is always the case; a deal comes along and I can never afford it when the deal is happening. Same thing happened with the BMW strut brace, and soon the intake (though I'm not sure I want that one). This is also going to pass me by and there isn't anything I can do about it. These need to be refinished, so the plan would have been to refinish a wheel at a time until all are done, then mount tires.

I'm so interested in taking these off your hands for my newly acquired E46 330xi. I've always loved them and they'd look great. Unfortunately, I'm just west of Albany, NY. Is there any chance you'd ship them? And if so, what would it take.
You have already researched the aggressive offset correct?
I think shipping might be $100...but will firm that up. Take your time and read the whole thread.
Better idea: come to the meet (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1079-ZHP-Mafia-Family-Reunion-June-10-2011-thru-June-12-2011-in-Williamsburg-Virginia) and pick em up...hehe.

I'm out. As you mentioned, the offset is way too aggressive. They'd be about 40mm further out than my style 98s. These must've come off an e39... Apparently you can find them with offsets compatible with e46s. I'll have to keep looking. Thanks anyway.

They're narrow enough (8" width) that they will work fine with stock suspension but will need rolled rear fenders with a drop.

You will have to roll your fenders. I rolled mine the other day in 30 minutes. You just need a fender roller....or a telephone book oir a bat(hehe).
I think shop cost would be minimal (<$100) to have it done though.

You try to flatten that fender lip so it doesn't rub against a tire.

I would just go with 17/225's all around....with this set. Roll it for 30k and if it looks like you got wiggle room...either get spaces with this set or go staggered with next set. Prolly 235 is the most though.
