I?m looking at buying the engine from the car to replace my 205k mile engine with bad top end compression on 2 cylinders.

Would love to know if this car was with a good owner? Well cared for? Any special stuff? Vanos done? Timing done? Etc etc

Dang! That?s a near identical twin to my car. I?ll have to check my vin and production date and see how close they are.

My production date is 5/2004 and vin about 500 after that ZHP.

To OP-Hope that engine is a good donor engine and hope it was well loved and maintained.

Thanks Fredo. Carfax doesn’t say much but worth it anyways just for piece of mind.

I didn’t purchase the car but just bought the engine out of it. Little risky but F it, compression is really good and it looks pretty clean.

Next will be to swap this into my 206k mile car and hope it lasts through my abuse. Wish me luck.
