For a while I had an issue with my ZKW Bi-xenon headlights being too dim. I bought new xenon bulbs but that didn't fix the issue.
I then read about headlight retrofit kits and decided to give RetrofitLab a try.
Here's the video to my retrofit process. I encountered a few hiccups but overall, I was very happy how much the light output improved.

I remember looking into the Morimotos but I was a little confused with their options. I wasn't sure which ones were right for my car and the price was a little higher than the retrofitlab. Do you currently have these in your car?

Another option would be to do a swap with OEM units thru this forum member.

This will probably be the route I go one of these days. I like that I don’t have to do any permanent changes to the headlight unit like drilling holes etc.

So BMW can sell you an overpriced item that will eventually burn out again.
I tried a cheap/quick fix a few years ago by just replacing the bulbs. If you have headlight washers, removing and replacing is a pain in the rear. Now, the headlights get water in them.
