Just received my Takata airbag settlement for the ZHP check this a.m.
Do not know if there would be another one for the E39. Since the check was only for the ZHP VIN.
Initial payment of $105 was issued. However this is for the Residual Distributionsfor all four program years have been completed.
Funds still remain for an additional payment.

I wonder if I will receive two checks, one for each car? Wouldn't that be nice??

did you have to submit a claim for this or do you get a check if you had a recall performed?
i had two airbags done on my current ZHP

A claim has to be submitted. Done this a long time ago I completely forgot about them figuring nothing would come out of it.
Somewhere back here was thread on submitting a claim way back when......
Damn I remember seeing that claim but it was for US cars only I think. Too bad!

I am first time hearing about this. I successfully replaced both airbags on my 3 BMW over the year, but never knew about the settlement.
Too bad that I missed the deadline.

I had three E46s and the E39 during the recall years. Was happy to get all the recalls performed at no cost & have no injuries - don't know why you'd need a settlement.

On the news yesterday: 'Do not drive' warning issued for thousands of older BMW vehicles.

So is this a second round of recalls? Per NHTSA's website I don't have anything outstanding.

I had both of mine done at home by a BMW tech about a year ago. I just ran my VIN and NO current recalls.

Read the first paragraph. Pretty sure they are referring to all those that did not do the recall.
