Went on a road trip to Jay Peak Vermont to ski this week. Popped over to the left lane to pass a car on the highway and in the middle of my lane is an orange construction site lamp standing up in the middle of my lane. No way to avoid it. Smashed a hole in my midpipe exhaust. Seems unlikely it can be repaired, but interested to know if anyone has had something like this welded up?
OE replacement is $650-675 (ESC and FCP, respectively).
Has anyone here removed 18107504168 (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BD53-USA-10-2004-E46-BMW-330Ci&diagId=18_0442) and replaced it with the Supersprint midpipe ($513)?

Curious to know what it sounds like.
