Thought I'd create a list of ZHP's sold this year on BaT. Prices are rising, especially for lower mileage examples. 28 have sold so far this year

Thanks for sharing - gives a good indicator of what they are going for

Can you sort that by mileage and repost?

75% are 6MT's too

Seems like it might be easier to share it for sorting in a spreadsheet format. What's the easiest option? google?

It’s definitely promising. Harder to find clean examples these days and I think clean/well maintained cars, regardless of mileage, will start to pull 16-17k+. I’m very confident in stock form, my car would pull 14-15k at 110k miles.

Can you post the spreadsheet file?

Also, was that Imola sedan with 112k miles that went for $32k the S54 swap?

pedro2u

I tried to attach the spreadsheet, but the forum wouldn't accept an excel file (unless I did something wrong). Suggestionss?

And the 112k was the S54 swap

Yeah the 32-33k sale was the imola “M3” ZHP with the full metal body, interior, and motor swap

75% are 6MT's too

Seems odd the 4 lowest miles are all autos.

BADCLOWN

I dont think that’s odd at all. Probably older people that bought them, people that aren’t necessarily a die hard enthusiast that enjoys driving

bored watching football, so I entered the rest of the ZHP sales BaT shows back to 2016. That's 66 of 'em. Values and quantity selling are both rising

The argument I always heard was “higher mileage commuters buy auto.”

Yeah, that would make sense too

I wonder how many auto vs. 6MT cars were made

I summarized the data from ZHPMafia here http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?13839-BMW-ZHP-Production-Numbers/page2&highlight=production+data

14k for a 2003 sedan with 118,000 miles on it????? Wow. I had no idea our cars were appreciating so much.

Thanks for the research. BaT has Mystic Blue 6MT convertible; 8 hours left, $6500.

Agree, too cheap! I assume that's your comment on it over on BaT:

Nice sample. $6500 is still too cheap. It will bring someone joy. I own a 2004 ZHP coupe in OBM with 57k miles. My plan is to keep driving it into my 80s.

Part of the increase seems to be due to the compression in the used car market. After covid, there is a lot less listings on craigslist.

I just put together a price sheet for a colleague shopping 5 speed e30 verts. If they’re under 100k, they’re $12,000+ on BAT.

Interesting, why only 28 data points? There were that many sales on BaT alone just this year, yet alone going all the way back to 2016 like their plot does

For current pricing trends, you generally don’t use 4 year old sales as data points.

As I think about selling my ZHP, thought I'd update the BaT ZHP sales spreadsheet to bring it today's date. Here's the PDF version, the site won't let me upload the excel file. Currently sorted by sale date......

I count 37 ZHP sales on BaT in 2020

It’s be nice to add title status, and relative amount of mods. Obviously I do t expect you to update this if you don’t want to, but mileage alone isn’t very relevant on 15+ year old cars now.

I used the rule of thumb that BaT has (so far) been selective setting the bar on the expected quality of enthusiast cars they will post, so I find that examples that have sold are in generally good to excellent condition compared to some pricing on Craigslist or other "no holds barred" and "let the buyer beware" platforms.

Since I'm considering selling my ZHP soon, and believe I'm "above the bar," I find the data a good relative indicator or what the price my car might bring. Love to hear thoughts if the forum thinks this isn't a good approach

And as I've stated, more than happy to share the excel file to anyone who wants to use it as a start to a creating a more comprehensive approach or database
