View Full Version : Fog light delete

Does anyone make a solid trim panel that fills the complete opening of the MTech2 fog light and brake duct opening? I'd prefer a complete block off, but even something like the M5s which still incorporate the fog light would work.

I found these, but was hoping for something that has more "depth" to it in the brake duct area, I kind of want it to look like it still has a duct as the I'm not super fond of how these change the look of the MTech2 bumper.

I got these off eBay. Sounds like what you're looking for?

Galapolis,
Hard to quite see them in that pic, but that's close. I'm not using the brake ducts or the fog lights, so I'm looking for something that completely closes off the opening. The M5 blank I referenced above is close, just not the right size. I already made a block off for the fog light opening and I can make something for the duct side as well, but was just hoping to find an all in one.

I have a closer pic here: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?8698-What-did-you-do-for-your-ZHP-BMW-MINI-today-2&p=594222#post594222
If you want to block off the air ducts, you might have to make something custom. That being said, unless you are rerouting them you shouldn't block them off, the front brakes rely on that airflow and blocking it off is a safety hazard.

Thanks for the additional pic.
We'll have to agree to disagree on the validity of the brake ducts, but they aren't going back on as we have some other stuff in the way. The idea is to hide the items on the passenger side and then make something with airflow that matches on the drivers side.

I don't have anything helpful to add on the brake duct / fog delete, but damn, what's up with the s85 shoe-horned in there?

It's pretty rad setup I've been working on for awhile now and getting to the home stretch I believe.

Couldn't find anything mass produced, so this is what we came up with. Took another center grill and cut out the grid, then expoxied to the back side of the bumper and built a block off plate for the passenger side and epoxied that to the grill. I think it turned out excellent.

That looks really good! I was toying with the idea of making brake ducts last night - having a proper duct routed to the centre of the disks to cool them on track, then some sort of cover to go on for the street to prevent debris buildup during daily driving. Having a removable cover that looks like what you have would be ideal

Are you having a brake cooling issue?
Are you having a brake cooling issue?
Nope, more of an excuse to have a cool (haha) project on hand. And to replace my cracked foglight
