Hi all, like most of you, I’m starting this thread to document my ZHP.

I picked this up over the weekend.
2005 330i Alpine white/alcantara interior.
I flew up to Sacramento and drove it straight down to San Diego. Starting 110,668mi

Story behind it; this was owned by a woman who married a BMW tech that built this car for her as it sits now. They divorced and the person I bought it from took it off her hands 3months ago. So technically I’m the second owner.

After some research, the records seem to back up the story. Received a stack full of service record with so many details. The same dealer here in San Diego performed almost all work. Everything possible was replaced, under warranty even the engine at 50k mi! Unfortunately I have no paperwork on performance mods but it’s all there and working as designed. The guy that put this thing together definitely worked on it like it was for a loved one.

Oil was due in a couple of months based on time, but had it done now: 111,167mi

Quick check underneath looked clean no leaks , there is some suspension squeak from the rear which I suspect might be from the aftermarket rear control arms.

I’ve never liked roof wraps, I’m gonna remove it soon. Might turn into a pain since it’s individual pieces. It does look kinda cool from a distance ..

I was test fitting my apex today , do you guy think a need a spacer ? Barely enough clearance between caliper and rim

The black wheels are VMR they definitely have a better stance/more aggressive look, but the apex are much lighter.

I’m thinking if I should run spacers on the apex to make them flush with the fenders

Agreed, it looks better without the carbon fiber. It's all down to taste.

I always found carbon fiber should be used sparingly or in the spirit of weight savings. True carbon fiber roof? Cool, lower center of gravity, better handling, increases libido by 15%. Carbon fiber emblems? I doubt you're saving anything more than single digit grams, if any.

Very true. Worst case you can do touch ups with a Q-tip or something. I'm probably going to go this route since no one seems to be selling decent condition Silver Cube trim in the Americas.

2. Use a safety pin to test different catch points for the buckle. I think about 12" from the original is a good starting point to make sure it clears the trim.
3. Once you find a position that works, order and install a new button (72111917406 & 72111950829)

Been away for a little while. Haven’t driven my ZHP much but I decided to address the shifter slop. I ordered the UUC shifter kit today, got $150 off due to the holiday ! I think I read on here I might need to replace a few other small parts in there. Any one with experience getting rid of their slop have any insight ? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210529/aafe0a20d2832ae091ecc947a54e9917.jpg

I just had a shop replace all the linkages, bushings and the ball cup with new genuine parts and that got rid of my slop. Basically this: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-374786-shifter-rebuild-kit/

I can vouch for this, especially if your shifter bushings are original. Night and day difference and to be honest, had the most impact on how nice the car felt to drive

I recommend the DSSR from UUC while you're at it.

Took in the ZHP to a Indy shop “BimmerSpeed” for a front suspension noise concern. Will be replacing the front camber plates per their recommendation.
Also had them do fluids; oil, brake, trans and rear diff service. They did not have any other recommendations.
I've been seeing everyone getting M3 side mirror and I think I need to get that done next after I put in my short shifter.

There was a sweet looking M2 race car out front. The guys there know their stuff. Will be having them service the supercharger in the future.

I received my UUC short shifter and DSSR back on June 7th. UUC had sent me some incorrect and missing hardware. Once I received that, I decided to install it myself on jack stands. As I started taking my shifter apart I noticed the previous owner had already installed a B&M shifter [emoji58].

I ran into several problems. The delrin shifter carrier bushings UUC sent me where too wide, I tried cutting them down etc but making them fit in that tight space was near impossible so then I ordered original BMW bushing.

While doing research I found ECS had a poly bushing for the opposite end so I ordered that as well.

Once I got those I continued with the install and realized UUC had sent me the wrong DSSR!!! It was curved in such a way that it would interfere with the shifter carrier and would not allow for it to go back together properly. Luckily the previous owner already had a DSSR installed. I’m not sure what brand it was but it fit right.

This job was a pain, mostly because of having all the wrong parts! UUC really let me down on this one. I tried calling and they would not answer so I emailed them several times. The first issue they eventually got back to me and sent out hardware. I emailed them on 7/13/21 about having the wrong DSSR and they have still not replied to me ! Crazy.
I was lucky that the vehicle already had a good working DSSR but hopefully they reply as I still have this useless part they sent me. Sorry for the rant!

Nice work! Heard some not so great things about UUC, I've never bought from them so I guess I'll just continue doing so lol

Not to hijack the thread but I used to have UUC trailing arm bushings and they were the most horrible thing ever. I try to avoid all UUC products.

I was playing around and made an amateur video of my ZHP. I was in a rush as sun was going down so you can see not thoughtout shots at the end. I might do another one, let me know if y’all would like to see anything in particular.
Note: just had the expansion tank replace so you can see coolant residue

I have had the UUC Corsa TSE3 exhaust and have had excellent experiences using this product. Why I am using this exhaust again in my current ZHP build. I have not had any experiences with their customer service (which I have heard is poor) or other products UUC sells for the E46 chassis so I can't comment there.

@OP, your ZHP looks very clean and set up very well :thumbsup
