did you read the comments on BaT about not joining ZHPMafia because he had to pay a joining fee? I'm tempted to comment over there.....

To me, that joining fee is one of the reasons this forum is so good. I think without it, we'd just be another e46fanatics with tons of members with all their off topic trash posts and the drama and conflict between members. There's good content there, don't get me wrong.

But glad to see that a few of those posters thought $20 was worth filtering out all the noise and are also contributing members here

I read that comment. When I joined this forum back in 2013 there was no fee to join. I would be happy to pay $20 today, I know there are costs associated to running this forum. It appears we don't have a lot of sponsors, so that money must come from some other places.

And I agree that's a great way to filter out the trolls out there.

+1 to this. I wasn't a big forum poster for the first few years of getting my car, but now that I am I definitely regret not joining ZHPMafia back in 2015 when the fee was only $10. It's nice not having countless threads by new members asking "what's wrong with my car, it makes a weird noise" with no further description, or seemingly illiterate members posts that serve no contribution to the community.

This thread just made me realize I've been here for 9 years. Wow. By FAR the best car forum I've ever been a part of. Absolutely love the zero troll tolerance policy. Life's too short for internet car drama. Drive the dang things and then come back here to share the experience :)
