I think that's for calls when you connect your phone via bluetooth.

Wow, thanks, learn something every day....

I have that on my 05 vert but had never noticed it until today. And that does appear to be it's function. I'm assuming it's not wired though in mine? When I had my GROM installed, they installed a separate microphone on the rearview mirror.

Is there a separate "prewired" tag in the trunk that would say Bluetooth? This is all I have...

I believe my car has more tags, but can't tell for sure. I don't have it handy to double check (currently stored at my parents' garage).

Yup, it's the mic. I don't know for sure, but I think it's wired whether or not you have bluetooth prewired.

"curiosity killed the cat" - I just had to look this up.

I thought it was a cover for the mic. From this image from Turner, what's sticking out of the column on our convertibles is the actual microphone (with cable attached). Not sure if it's plugged in to anything in our cars.....

Yes, but the mic does come out of that 'cover'
