Here's some minutiae for the day! Mine's an '06 coupe with black cube trim & Alcantara/cloth interior. The sedans also have the triangular blank in place of the side mirror controls. I wanted to replace my trim insert as it has some scratches in the "soft paint" coating. There is a SCHWARZ MATT soft paint cover (51417025356, ~$17.50) & a GRAPHITE MATT soft paint cover (51418236120, ~$10). I refer you to the ECS Tuning links as they have decent parts pix.

My insert has "8 236 120" on the back, which would point to the Graphite insert. The Schwartz one shown at ECS Tuning has that same number on the back, but has a different part #: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/front-door-panel-trim-insert-matte-black/51417025356/

The Graphite one shown at ECS Tuning site also appears to have "8 236 120" on the back, and that is the end of the part number:

According the reviews at the ECS page the part "looks black" but isn't.

The sedan & touring cover come in plain ol' black (51418213902, ~$4.50) but has deeper edges:

I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but wanted to get the right part as a replacement. Will the cheaper black sedan part (without soft paint) work for the coupe? Thanks for any experience you've had with this!
