Installed two sets of Performance Friction PFC-01 brake pads, flush/bleed fluid, mounted new Direzza Star Specs on the track wheels (245/40/17), and new Powerflex FCABs. Headed to Buttonwillow for the long weekend to thrash the ZHP in the scorching summer heat.
Swapped a BM53 radio module to test my phantom no-sound issues with my stereo... no fixie. Next!
Applied some clear adhesive sealant to my kidney grilles and reinstalled... will stop them rattling for a while I hope. Cheap-ass Bimmian junk!

Put yer rotors on the right way!!!
Today I had my wheels refinished AGAIN because a shop gouged my newly refinished wheels two weeks ago. This time it was free and the color looks to have even more "hyper" to its silver, which I love. Reminds me of current M wheels in hue.
Took it to a body shop to have a look at the front end paint work that's needed. Got a basic quote and opinion. Will keep shopping/looking.

Vacuumed the interior quickly. Hit the glass with some Windex, the other night while driving & raining there was an oily film all over the outside of the windshield. Hopefully it's gone now. Should apply some RainX.
Also purchased a few parts..
Wahler thermostat ($64.75, Pelican Parts). I've thought about getting an aluminum housing t-stat, maybe next time.
Akebono EUR683 ceramic rear brake pad set ($62.49, Amazon).
Bowa rear brake sensor ($12.50, Pelican Parts).
Belts are fine, but the idler tensioner pulley is starting to have a little bit of chatter, I believe. If I replace that I might just go with a Stewart Components (http://www.stewartcomponents.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=BMWHPWP)high-performance water pump at the same time. They're $195 but I've read they last forever, draw a little less power from the engine, and truly are more effective.
Have tiny bit of oil seepage around the oil filter adapter housing. The gasket is like $6.50 but it's a PITA to get to. Probably let that go for a while.
The liner on my c-pillars has come loose, most likely from the summer heat through the rear glass. Is there a recommended adhesive to use that won't bleed through? I've been meaning to get some tint on the sides and rear..
Oh, and my windshield washer resovoir has a drip coming from the bottom, need to investigate that.

Control arm bushings, fuel filter, trans, diff and brake fluid, and CDV delete. Shifting is much smoother than the original 70k mile old gear oil, and no rattle while going over bumps. Now I need to figure out/get rid of this awful initial throttle response and high clutch engagement. Does anyone have any experience with the various clutch stops and/or throttle enhancers on the market? The only thing I would have done different than BMW to the design and function of this wonderful car are the pedals.
Installed wheel locks, washed, tire shine, and put on wheel wax.
Pro tip: Don't put wheel wax on 135M's unless you really really want to spend a long freaking time getting all of it off. This stuff better be worth it or I'm never putting it on again.
Bought her some presents--OE thermostat, EMP Stewart coolant pump, Ferodo DS2500 front pads, windshield sunshade, Meyle front swaybar links, foamed wool detailing pads, and Dodo Juice Sealant Wax! (Girls like to have fun and be pretty, too!). :)

I was in a hurry when I took this picture, unfortunately I did not get a blank pic of just the building. Next photo opportunity similar to this I will take a blank shot first then try other angles. In this location, I was not able to drive through the tunnel (curb too high) so this was the best I could do at the moment. As for being in the tunnel looking at the car, I will try this the next time. Awesome feedback, thanks again! :thumbsup

cleaned/wiped exterior with PoorBoys' quick detailer -
i know there are better products - will switch to a better product soon
(Meg's or Einszett or perhaps some type of spray wax AND detailer combo like Wolfgang perhaps ??)
One thing I noticed - since using the Sonax and putting PoorBoys' wheel sealant, a lot LESS brake dust is on the wheels, and just wiped off REALLY easy with just a wet rag/quick detailer! Not baked on like before :) so yeah, if you clean wheels, PROTECT that clean finish with some type of wax/sealant, and PREVENT future brake dust from sticking.

So how does this Coby wheel swap work? Do you order one and are charged the wheel PLUS the core, then when you send your old wheel back, they credit you the core charge? I am VERY interested in doing this. Love the tri-color Alcantara.

Correct. I had mine done last winter so I just sent him my wheel and had it recovered so I didn't have to deal with the core charge.

Perfect, thank you. Which did you go with? I think the Gray Alcantara is probably closer to factory-spec. than the Black, correct? But I think I would have to go with the tri-color stitching...

Yup, the 9005 Grey is oem. No doubt you will be very happy with Mikes work, top quality and no one comes close to his prices that I've ever found.
My center roundel was showing its age a little and I just happened to have this helmet sticker laying around that I bought at the BMWMOA rally a few years ago. Gave it a try and it's a perfect fit and IMO looks much better than the plastic chrome looking factory one.
http://mrmaico.smugmug.com/Cars/BMW-333Ci/i-RcDQZtF/0/L/IMG1191-L.jpg
It comes with a ring of adhesive tape on the back but I just used a tiny piece of 2 sided tape in the center for a test fit and it's still holding good with just that. Eventually I think I'll try to remove all the tape and just mount it with a dab of silicone. It sticks out now maybe .5 mm so you have to look for it to notice but fully flush would be even better.

Started my first detaiing. I can say today, since I finished up the first part at 12:45 this morning.
Washed, clayed, and applied Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze. I learned a few things:
1. I need a LOT more microfiber.
2. Claying is not near as hard as I was thinking it would be. I was surprised the paint was as clean as it was.
3. While the car is nice and shiny, the glaze didn't make near as much of a difference for my swirl marks as I was hoping.
4. A polisher would make this kind of work much, much easier.
5. Even in the middle of the night, doing this type of work in Texas, in the summer is miserable. I think I lost about 5 pounds sweating.
Next steps:
1. Remove the wheels, spray them down with SONAX, and scrub.
2. Clean the wheels wells
3. Engine bay cleaning
4. Vacuum interior
5. Wipe down all interior surfaces with 303
6. Go after my seats with Einszett 1Z Lederpflege
7. Go over trim with Back to Black
8. Finish off the paint with Poorboys Natty Blue Paste Wax
Now that I have this all typed out, I'm realizing I need to get started! ;)

Yesterday, my dad and I spent about 90 minutes working to remove some hard water stains that had formed on my car from the sprinklers while I was on vacation. I think we finally resorted to Maguiar's Ultimate Compound for most of the body, but the good news is I think we took a few swirls out as well. It looks sa-weeeeet right now in the garage. After I put that much time into it, I had to take her out on the road and have a bug splat on the car or something.

It's simple, all you need is patience. There are tons of DIY's online. Some people leave the rear windshield up to the professionals because they don't want to mess with their defroster lines. I took my rear windshield tint off myself.

Putting the A-pillars back on is a total bitch, though. The little clip thing that slides in at the back of the dash is hard to get in, and the screws are super super hard to screw in. Moral of the story: use a ratchet w/ T20 Torx!

Cleaned her today, and it was a PITA. Some numbnuts came into the place where my wife works last Monday, he followed my weekend cleaning by putting something on the tires. Well, the tires are still fairly new (6 months), so I'm intentionally not using any tire shine. Some kind of reaction between the petroleum aging out of my tires and this junk the dude put on her tires, there were tar balls all over the side of the car, fenderwells, mirrors were caked with it. Took me almost 2 hours just to get rid of all the tar balls, then a wash. I asked her to call me next time numbnuts comes to her work, I'm driving over for a chat...

Do they have factory gloss black?
Yup, that's what mine are. About $50 a piece.

EDIT: I'm not positive that that 1st pic was the gloss ones now that I think about it. This one definitely is though...

I would bet that all or most of the flat black ones come from the same place. I wasn't real impressed with my aftermarket flat black ones either. I ended up getting the BMW gloss black ones. Much better quality and the gloss just matches better too IMO.

I love these on your IR coupe. I'm so glad I went with OEM, looks classier than flat black.

I wanted to go to the fest, but I had to work. Work was slow, so I installed red clear red tails, 4 wheel alignment, replaced the H20 pump, thermostat, hoses, and belts. I bought the car with higher mileage so I was sweating the coolant components. Only thing I didnt get was the idler and tensioner, didnt think about it. That and a set of coilovers is a job for next time.

With some help from my cousin, we installed Performance Air Intake...
Also tried the "Lock Beep DIY" but unsuccessful... i first got the 87 dB, not loud enough for me, went back to Radio Shack, replaced it with 90 dB,
wont even work (no sound).... will be heading back to RS first thing tomorrow morning to replace it again....

Full exterior detail. She should be good for several more months.
Paint was in decent shape so went with the following lineup: Menzerna Power Finish, Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze, JetSeal 109 and Swissvax Shield.

New water pump, expansion tank, thermostat, and coolant. Whoever decided to have those plastic end pieces and retaining clips on all of the hoses vs regular hose clamps needs to be taken out back and beat.... But I guess I won't have to worry about my cooling system for another 80k. Next on the list, A and B pillars and rear shocks...

Bought $770 worth of preventive maintenance parts for a 100,000 ZHP I just purchased. Complete cooling package with radiator, belts and pulleys, plugs, filters, fuel filter, transmission fluid, rear diff fluid, etc. Should be goof for another 100,000 miles.

Yesterday, I tried to refresh my alcantara wheel. Looks about the same from what I could tell afterward; however, it's significantly less dirty feeling this morning and looks a little more fluffy. A lot of the fabric seems to have worn away, though... :/

Met up with William (wsmeyer), had a few beverages, hung out, replaced my windshield cowl, and talked ZHPs. He has a Saphire Black 6MT Vert and mine is Jet Black STEP Vert, same year, so it was really fun comparing the cars. We drove each others, surprisingly similar feel to them. Great time. Thanks William!

James and I hung out with Albert on Saturday. Went to lunch (awesome Mexican food) and then James and Albert did a Palomar run.

Really nice looking mats. Nice that you all got to hang out in SD Marcus. I'm having a StealthOne installed as I type, and hardwiring my new (used) ValentineOne for power. The StealthOne displays the Valentine alerts on the NAV screen instead of the detector and you can control it with the steering wheel. Hope it works!

Thanks. It appears to work, but I'm not exactly sure how to fully test it other than driving by a LEO with radar, and that might not be for awhile. There are some configuration things I can try, but when the V1 initializes I do see a V1 on my NAV screen. I'll let you know when I come up with something solid.
Also, just installed no-holes front plate bracket. Really like the way it looks.
Tried to install my c/f diffuser, but the fit is off and there is a gap. Not sure I'm going to be able to get rid of the gap so I may be S.O.L. The diffuser is not very pliable so it won't bend quite right to get the tabs in. Too late (a few months) to return it to the person I bought it from.
