$500 , not bad. Can't tell if all the hardware is included.

I said deals on these strut bars can be found... as for the hardware, they can be easily sourced direct from BMW and don't cost too much...
$500 is about right for these strut bars since they are prone to crack under stress as Botond found out...

I got one off of a member on e46fanatics for 600. I simply PM’d them, told them I saw they had one and asked them to keep me in mind if they ever wanted to part ways with it. Had it the next week.

Could be this one on eBay. [emoji848]
I agree with Charlie, these bars are not worth over $600 as they are known to crack. I know 3 people now that had theirs crack in the middle.

So my $.02... i had one i sold last year and replaced it with a dinan bar. I now prefer the dinan bar. I think the car significantly responds better to hard cornering with the dinan bar vs the bmw performance bar.
I didn't expect to notice any difference. The dinan bar is very reasonably priced at around $365 and very worth the difference vs stock.

Maybe, but what's logic got to do with it? Lol

i think that's great. if you are a performance oriented person then that does make sense. trust me when i say that when i paid out the nose for mine it had nothing to do with performance and everything to do with wanting something rare no my car to complete a theme look and nothing more lol. pretty much the worse kind of buying reasoning. i would love to get another one for my zhp wagon but im happy with one

Lol I agree with you guys and it sounds like we had the same reasoning for buying the bmw performance bar. It looks amazing and is a great bar! :)

I will say if you’re looking for performance there are other strut bars out there that are better, in that they won’t break in half, but for looks there are no other strut bars that look better than this strut bar (maybe the DINAN offering comes close).
I’m lucky in that I have 2 1/2 BMW Performance carbon fiber strut bars in my garage [emoji41]

As it has been proven numerous times, it is not a great bar. But it sure is the best looking one.
Yes, I'm still salty about having spent $500-600 on a stupid strut bar and having it crack right down the middle. Useless garbage.

Yeah understood which is why i posted my experience with both bars. I really like the Dinan bar, it is a lot less in price and does a much better job stiffening up the chassis. The bar literally does not flex and the weight of the bar is negligible IMO.
As far as looks I personally really like it.
I am not a big Dinan fan for all of their products but do really like this bar.
The cornering with the bar on is like being on rails with zero flex.

They do the job, look good and will not crack in half, win win. They also easily clean up with a scotch brite pad. I used a black painters pen to fill in the DINAN.

Great idea, Gary. I will try to refurbish mine the same way. Have to figure out how to get the rust off the bolts though...

Soak them in evaporust liquid for 24 hours and then refinish them if you want.

I never heard of it so I looked it up. This stuff seems like magic! I'm gonna have to give this a try. Thanks for the tip!

I have some guy hounding me this week for my spare BMW Performance carbon fiber strut bar and he told me he is willing to pay my asking price + shipping for the part... we'll see how this transpires.... he even commented he is willing to pay for my "wall art" instead...
