I was checking pricing on ESS Tuning twin screw superchargers tonight, and I noticed they're not listed on the ESS Tuning website OR the European Auto Source website OR anywhere else I've found. It appears they've been discontinued...

You can still get some parts for them but the supercharger, manifold and the laminova cores are no longer available

Yep! Nothing wrong with that :)
I believe ESS still has centrifugal SC for the M54 too as well as AA

off-topic, but when the hell did you become an EAS tech lol were you working on the m5/5 series lip for a long time? that's why we couldn't see you? me and Tom were joking about how long it would take to complete the install lol

Tom already confirmed to me when I was there that there's no more TS systems. Totally explains why Steve was asking me when I was going to do that S54 swap.

I joined in June. Not sure what lip you're talking about, but Tom takes plenty long to get things done too ;)

maybe it wasn't a lip. I forgot already. Yeah but he's the owner, he can take a long time if he wants lol

According to AJ, as of 9/28, there are still "a few" complete TS2 kits in inventory.

The intake manifold part is silver. The charger part is black. I didn't fully take it out of the box

They must be emptying the parts bin or saying F it and not getting those items powder coated. The older units looked like that but that's definitely a whipple on there...

Yeah they told me they stopped powdercoating since like a year ago. So I guess I have to do it now.

Why do you have to powdercoat it? Preference? Aluminum should be fine uncoated.

I like the contrast too but hey man I'm just the installer

Yeah just preference. I like to have it as OEM looking as possible. Since the intake manifold is originally black, it looks off to me. Plus it'll be harder to spot if my hood gets popped.

It looks like I got the last one ESS had as of Oct 2021. Not sure if they will do another production run. It is a good kit. Deceptively fast. I have a BMW performance intake, and cannot tell if I ever heard the supercharger whine. I still run the stock exhaust. The car gives no hints about its potential.

No matter how hard I floor it, I get a smooth surge of power.

Hard to argue with a strong mid-range.

It has been a couple of years, and I figured I should write an update. The drive belt is a little chewed up, nothing major, but I saw it while doing my valve cover gasket. The one that came with my kit is Contitech 6PK1900. I think I will go to 6PK1905 since I am running the alternator overrun pulley, which has about 19mm more circumference. The belt does not go fully wrap around it, so another 5mm is possibly appropriate. I suspect the belt is chewed up because I used a Febi tensioner. I am not so sure about Febi for this part, 11287838797. I am going for an INA unit. An alternate belt part number is 1060750 where the 750 stands for 75 inches, or 1905mm. 1060747 is the next closest thing at 74.7" which is 1897.4 mm, but that is even smaller, so not ideal. Let's see how this goes. Meanwhile, the ESS TS2 is still going strong. I have the 8PSI kit with an 85mm pulley. I see ESS includes EPK1900 for the 81mm TS2+ pulley, giving me more reason to think 1905, or possibly larger will be OK.
