I purchased an '05 ZHP Vert in AZ. My father did the inspection and transaction on my behalf. I live in San Diego and he is in Phoenix.
The car had a lien on it (through a WA state credit union). My father paid cash at an affiliate credit union with the seller on my behalf. The car currently has an AZ title. The credit union said I would be issued a CA title in 4-6 weeks in my name. This seems strange to me because I don't foresee CA issuing me a title until I pay sales tax, registration fees, etc.
I've never paid cash for a vehicle and not received the title immediately.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
And a pic of the car of course!33786

You get CA title, but not CA plates or registration. You have to get it smogged, etc. for that. Not sure why the title is taking long but I have to imagine they are clearing it due to lien, etc. but that is only pure conjecture on my part.

Yes, all this is correct. Once you get the title you will smog it and complete the registration process.

I was wondering the same, as I thought the 'verts had the same M-Tech aero kit as the coupes.

They do, that’s a standard 3 series bumper. So question is; why has it been swapped/replaced??

I didn't even notice that! Great, now I am going to have to start shopping for the correct bumper!
According to Carfax it was involved in an accident in 2007 (non-airbag deploying). I don't know they would replace it with that bumper.
It may actually end up working out as I have a steep entrance to my garage over the sidewalk. I imagine this bumper would give me slightly more clearance.

It should. The fangs stick out a bit on the ZHP bumper.

Assume rear bumper is correct too? Might be worth checking along with the list of all the other ZHP package options. Run a VIN decoder to confirm what options came with car (especially S767A Performance Package) https://www.bmwvin.com/

You scared me for a second about the rear bumper, but I just checked, it is correct.
I did run the VIN before purchasing the car. That's how I knew it was a ZHP. The seller didn't advertise or realize it was a ZHP.

that's great news. I'm going to replace my front bumper this winter when I store the car. PO curbed and there's a hunk missing underneath :(
I'd seen good reviews for Khoalty MTechII bumpers. Much lower cost than BMW OEM. I was going to send you the link, but I can't seem to access their website today
Khoalty.com
Anyone know what's going on at Khoalty? Or am I the only one that can't access it?

Thanks for the good info.
I wasn't able to access the site either.

Sometimes shops accidentally order the std parts, not ZHP. I replaced a rocker panel, shop ordered the correct ZHP part, but they sent the std rocker panel.
