UPDATE From TRS 9/10/18:
Thank you for the follow up. They are currently in the final production run now and should be finishing up here in the next week or so. We expect them to be finished, shipped, in stock and ready to ship within the next 3-4 weeks. I don't have any photos of them on the car and turned off. The only photo that shows them off is where they are sitting in our photo booth. I may be able to test fit the one we have on our track car here though.

Once we have a more concrete date we will be able to start taking the actual order for them. They'll have an option to include canbus harnesses to prevent errors. It'll be an optional add on since we know some guys will just code out the errors and not need the extra bits.

Confirmed with the boss man to make sure we had enough coming, which we do, and the 25% will be a go. That will be the max discount we can offer as well, but that DOES include the FREE shipping as well for any domestic US shipping.

Here are some links to output shots. It uses the same optic as our universal fog lights but with a custom exact fit housing. The first photo is from about 20' from the test bench to the wall itself, the second photo is much closer to the wall to show how the bottom portion has more of a rounded shape for foreground lighting.

These Morimotos have a nice flat light pattern.
Keep in mind my truck fog lights are 3 feet up inside the front bumper.
These should work great on the M3!

It usually takes at least 10 people or so from what I've seen to get a decent group buy discount from the manufacturer. I was going to give them a call but feel free to see what you can find out.

Just a heads up on the possible "Group Buy". I just called TRS and spoke to Drew about a group buy. They were not opposed to doing one I would just have to submit a proposal via email and he would get with the higher ups for approval.

I basically have a very similar setup in my OE ZKW Clear Lens Fog Lights. They are very bright but no light pattern whatsoever. I always liked the BMW X5 LED Fog Light pattern. They are more like driving lights than fog lights, that's one thing thats nice about these XB's. The XB's I have on my truck have a nice 5500K flat light pattern. They should be listed as XB LED Driving Lights not Fog Lights.

Holy cow so sorry I’ve been so absent! But my assumptions are the same as above regarding the discount , I emailed but received no response back so calling was absolutely the right move. I’m still in, at 200$ shipped it’s not outrageous considering it’s plug and play & uses OEM fog covers. Any discount above 10% off would be ideal I’d say??

Ok here is the details. First we need to get a list going of who wants a sweet discount on these LED Fog Lights. I'm waiting to find out the release date and how long they want the GB to run. I'm assuming up until the release date but it could go longer.

TRS has increased the discount levels from the proposed 10-15-20 to the following.

Dunno, I consider fog lights to be pretty pointless. They never make a darned bit of difference in any situation I've used them in, including fog.
I would just use them as Daytime Running Lights.

Now if only there was a way to "code" them as such. No such luck. :(

can fogs be coded to automatically turn on with the headlights when the headlight switch is set to the "auto" position? not sure if thats what you meant by DRLs.

UPDATE From TRS:

Thank you for the follow up. They are currently in the final production run now and should be finishing up here in the next week or so. We expect them to be finished, shipped, in stock and ready to ship within the next 3-4 weeks. I don't have any photos of them on the car and turned off. The only photo that shows them off is where they are sitting in our photo booth. I may be able to test fit the one we have on our track car here though.

Once we have a more concrete date we will be able to start taking the actual order for them. They'll have an option to include canbus harnesses to prevent errors. It'll be an optional add on since we know some guys will just code out the errors and not need the extra bits.

Confirmed with the boss man to make sure we had enough coming, which we do, and the 25% will be a go. That will be the max discount we can offer as well, but that DOES include the free shipping as well for any domestic US shipping.

Here are some photos of the output. It uses the same optic as our universal fog lights but with a custom exact fit housing. The first photo is from about 20' from the test bench to the wall itself, the second photo is much closer to the wall to show how the bottom portion has more of a rounded shape for foreground lighting.

These fog lights are in Pre-Order status as mentioned in the original emails and on the website. Since we have 0 in stock they will show as out of stock, or on "back order" once placed as they will not be available for a few weeks.

To be quite honest, I'm not entirely sure now if they are or are not monitored by the OBC. Im aware all of the other lights are, including rear fogs on the EU models. This is why we offer the added resistor and splitter to connect them. However if they are not throwing codes, or if you have the light warnings coded out they would not be needed.

Thankfully we don't have to worry about this. I'm surprised they don't know; the introduction video for this product featured an E46 M3, so they should have known whether it would need this or not.

I recommend a heat gun and an exacto knife for precise cuts on the lamin-x, remember less cutting is more lol

I hopped on Lamin-X’s own 25% sale and ordered or 2 sets of there fog light vinyl. Non-M & ZHP/M3 fogs. I guess we’ll see how it plays out

It was an option lol +15$ though just for the fogs

I bought a kit (comes with corner lights, main head light & fogs) + another fog light kit just for the M3 fogs just in case they don’t fit for whatever reason

The kit + m3 fog lights = 42$ shipped to my door so I couldn’t go wrong

Well examining my set (My personal install will have to wait til tomorrow night), They come with 3-4 screws behind the bezel so you may be able to just unscrew that and then apply the film lol

I applied the same 3M (precut) film to my younger brothers E55 AMG this week on Tuesday after defogging all 4 lenses and they look great but at a cost, during install the films adhesive is very non-forgiving.
Me being a perfectionist I decided to move it 1/10 of an inch on the passenger side and the glue underneath smeared very very slightly, I followed there DIY on “just using distilled water”

But I HIGHLY recommend attempting the 3M film application with a small cup of soapy water.

Nice! Here is some pictures from a member on the M3Forum. It does look like the face plate is removable to make it easier to apply some protective film. Use a hair dryer and a small squeegee to apply the film. You can use a credit card wrapped in a microfiber cloth instead of a squeegee if needed.

@ZHPizza: your best course of action is to take one of the screws to a hardware store?

Laminx: The bulb (and film) are substantially larger than the ID of the black plastic bezel. This means there's a lot of lateral play when installing the protective film. Maybe I just got lucky, but I just eyeballed them in with no fluid, just a heat gun, and everything looked fine in the end.

need some help with installing mines. so the oem connector from car has one solid and one striped wire. the wiring on the fog is one red and one black. which wire goes where?

Mfr says to test them. You can't damage your lamps from reversed polarity.

Also: I've you're like me and didn't see the "TOP" symbol on the FRONT of the assembly: you're good as long as the masks on the lamps output an upright "T" shape of light.

Those do look nice and bright! You just need to adjust them down a bit. The fog cutoff is approx a foot above the HID's.

The face plate is removable for applying film. It’s held on with three small phillips screws. A few members had a screw missing and mine were kinda loose. These thread into plastic so I would recommend putting some silicone on these to keep them tight.

Wow I really appreciate this group buy!!! and I just finished ordering a set, I opted for the cheapest shipping method to Canada, it was $16. So we'll see how long it takes to get here. These are the kind of mods I am very excited about doing to my car, mods that are great quality, some what inexpensive, but make the car much more modern and functional.

For anyone wondering what they look like with yellow film installed, you can see the effect in the attached picture. As expected, the output looks green...

And yes, they require aiming right out of the box. They're blinding in as-is configuration.
