I wish I had this tool when I did my RTAB's. It was a pain using a custom tool and took a ton of extra time.

Thanks for loaning this out for other members Vas :thumbsup

That's good to know.
I've done mine last year and had to go the longer way.
Now I know that Vas is offering his tool for rent.

Hopefully soon I will be purchasing a tool set that will do the other ones since they are in need of replacement.

+1. There is a special tool needed for upper and lower ball joints.
I used Koch toll for rear subframe that I rented from Shawn. I had to use buch on spacers, washers and some creativity. I almost ripped the rubber portion of the ball joint...so, let's say it was not ideal.
With the proper tool that job would be very easy

Alright guys I'm preparing to replace all 3 of these bushings/ball joint

I saw this video of a tool kit that made it look very simple. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyLfedKkaBA

I couldn't really find that exact tool kit for sale, but bavauto has one that looks to be identical https://www.bavauto.com/bmw-b8800100 I've searched but I haven't seen anyone use the bavauto version. Have you guys seen or heard any feedback on the bavauto kit?

I am sure some members will give you a feedback on this kit.
Good luck with the repair.

Ok pulled the trigger on this tool kit. I will let you guys know how it works out when I get it. I will end up selling the kit once I’m done. Also ordered these bad boys https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180915/8fedb625fe8393a508c2b9fa9afac058.png

How did you like this kit? Did it come with instructions? How was the RTAB install?

I’m thinking about doing the Bimmerworld RTAB too.

There’s some bad feedback on the M3Forum about the bimmerworld RTABS. Apparently the bearing is the issue. They use a cheaper bearing that causes squeaking and early failure.

Monoball RTAB Thread

I would go with the Turner Monoball, CMP or the SDW RTABS.
The Turner RTAB uses a OE Bearing: Mercedes/lemforder 2043520027 Sealed ball joint.

Functionally they’re great, vehicle feels much better. The issue for me is, they’re a little too harsh for my taste. I think I’m a oem bushing type of guy, don’t need “super” handling for my daily. It is great though when I’m in a hurry and taking turns quickly. I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep them or go back to stock bushing.

Thanks for the heads-up... I’ll check out the Turner stuff, but I’m not inclined to buy from ECS / Turner after reading about the ECS management issues.
