So I finally did it. Been searching for the right one for months and today she arrived. Some shoddy body work on the passenger rear quarter, and I need to get the right fascias back on her but all-in-all a solid car.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Been finding any excuse I can to drive this week. So much fun. And of course making a "to do" list. :)

Hi, your a ZSP buddy!

What makes you say this? I am still trying to get familiar with all of the little differences. TIA

So I was able to get to a dealership today with the VIN and they were nice enough to run an option listing. Why someone put standard front and rear bumpers on this car is beyond me but they also mixed the headlights. I have one AL and one ZKW. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180815/50ec34bd1dda3339a65d23c70d26266a.jpg

Welcome!

That is interesting, maybe there was damage to the bumper and owner didn't want to spend the extra money on the m-tech bumper? That still is odd since most people even w/o ZHPs tend to add the bumpers for the better looks. The good thing is you don't need to spend extra money on internals that come with the ZHP since thats a cosmetic issue.

Update on my ZHP...

Got it into a good BMW mechanic to give it a health inspection and got some good and bad news. The good news is that the car is mechanically/electrically VERY sound. No leaks, no weird codes, no damaged or worn out suspension (minus rear upper shock mounts which I replaced). The mechanic was really impressed with the "bones" of the car. Also the interior is in above average shape. Other than a snapped hinge on the armrest everything is as it should be.

However... it is a wreck recovery. And appears to have been done about as cheaply/badly as possible, which explains the non-ZHP fascias and the fact no accident shows up on reports. To add insult to injury those fascias are held on for the most part by wood screws into the sheet metal!!! From what we can tell is was hit in the passenger rear HARD and in the driver front lightly. Battery box in the trunk is no where near "right," so much so that the cover will not fit. The deeper I dig the more I find it seems.

All in all still a good deal for what I paid, just not the steal I thought I got... I do LOVE this car. I have driven a lot of different cars and this is by far the most fun I have had for the $$$ I spent.

I'm hooked!!!
