Oh God it's bad....

So I've noticed some looseness in the steering. I got the car on a lift today, and it's the steering rack. Something's going click where it shouldn't be. I've done some preliminary research, and as per this thread (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=954523), the ZHP steering rack has part number: 7852974712

Problem is this part number is nowhere to be found, and new steering racks cost >$2k, an absolutely absurd amount.

Has anyone else replaced their steering racks? Any good used options?

It looks like I might have found my salvation:

Griffith's used to offer rebuilds - only Porsche now. Many of the Pcar guys are happy with the Autozone rebuilds - check it out.
