Yeah I can't get over how good this thing looks with the matte black trim. Every time I drive it I feel happy knowing that if my red car gets wrecked, I'm moving the drivetrain/suspension into the wagon so I can be like you.

^^^She's slammed!And still surprisingly functional lol. Doesn't scrape or rub. I normally can't stand a slammed car but I've wanted a tucked BMW since I was a kid. I was adjusting the height a few years back and this sorta happened. I loved the look and kept it :). The hilarious thing is that I have all this work in the suspension of this car and my Stealth still sits lower at stock height lol.

Sounds good. I have an old mirrorless Fuji X-E1. Not the most modern, ultra high speed camera out there but it takes great shots. Most of my pics here are from the camera

Thank you, thank you. Gonna be winter prepping it next week with a quick decontamination (Spray down with Optimum power clean + clay + Adam's wheel cleaner used as iron remover) followed by a layer or two of Power-lock Plus and maybe a topping of Optimum car wax. Stay tuned for pics :)

The current plan is to finish hand sanding the carbon trunk, wash and clay the whole car, and do a very good wax job with a few coats plus on the trunk. The clear on it it pretty soft and does not like UV at all. Thankfully Sonax and a few other companies have some very good write-ups on carbon fiber care. I'll be pulling the headlights apart and repairing my angel eyes while I'm at it. The headlights need to be resealed anyways so it'll knock out two birds with one stone.

Here's an oldie to tide the page over until I get it back and finish the trunk.... Aaand convince myself to not knock out the hood while I'm at it lol.

It’s more of a spray sealant and the reviews say it lasts quite awhile and is incredibly glossy, even Matt Moreman from the obsessed garage YouTube channel was using it as his drying aid for awhile. I haven’t tried it yet but I have a bottle waiting for testing.

If you're still looking for one, a junk yard or a part out will be your best bet. There's a sedan being parted out currently in the classified section. Outside of part outs or yards, a thorough search may pull something up on the web and there are a few reliable used BMW parts dealers on Ebay.

Though, if I'm honest, it's been too bloody cold or rainy here to do anything worthwhile to the car other than ultra basic maintenance. I still need to finish sanding down the trunk lol. If it's not pouring rain, it's sunny and 35 degrees lol. Hence the old shots. I haven't had a chance to take anything new [emoji23]

Sure, not sure if you can tell by the picture but it really restores the rubber trim to a deep, dark black with some shine and hydrophobicity (it beads pretty well). I'll take a close up in a bit to show you but the rubber trim looks almost new. I should have taken before and after pics when I did it. Also lasts several months to a year. Actually, now that I think about it, I think I'll go ahead and do the performance grills too while the Suns out.

I will say I haven't tried any other trim coatings though so not sure how they compare but I got this original bottle 2 years ago when I first got the car and I've only used about half.

lol thanks, definitely regretted it but I was in too deep at that point.

Just as a word of clarification, I do mean the rubberized moldings on the doors and bumpers. Also like all coatings, preparation is key. I cleaned them off with some rubbing alcohol and a magic eraser to get rid of as much wax and junk as I could before applying the coating a few drops at a time in small sections, making sure its uniformly distributed. Don't leave any runs or obvious high spots because its pretty permanent and they'll be there for awhile. Also don't let the coating dry on the paint lol let us know how it goes!

Thanks guys! I got the clears off eBay for the best price, all DEPO. Corners fit spot on, side markers ok, tails pretty good.

I'm getting the front bumper and driver's fender repainted next week. Bumper is spider webbed and sand blasted, and fender was a less than stellar PO repair that doesn't blend well and has some clear coat damage from when I wetsanded off the pinstripe.

Thank you, I'll have to measure it next time I'm out but I'm lowered on H&R Sport springs with Bilstein B8s which I believe is supposed to be lowered 0.75 up front and 0.25 in the rear from Stock sport suspension.

I'm lucky to wash once a month with Chem Guys Wash and Wax. Touch up with Gyeon Cure time to time.

I take care of 3 vehicles in my household and have a 2 year old, yard, wife, ect so I'm lucky to wash my vehicles once a month. When I detail them I want it to last. Gyeon Can Coat is good for a about a year and makes washing way easier and faster.

I haven't gotten into ceramic coatings yet, Im being stubborn and I still enjoy the romance of putting a good wax on the car, although in my case its a combo of Power lock and Collinite 1-2x a year with beadmaker at each wash. I think i'll probably venture to coatings when I get all the exterior projects completed and complete a good compound/polishing.

Just did a small photo shoot in the beach parking lot before i started teaching my gf how to drive stick. Slightly painful experience but figured it’d be helpful Incase of emergencies. Pictures were worth it, though, wish i could upload full size.
