Ok, brand spankin noop here to the ZHP world...

Read a bunch on why the steptronic shifter won’t go into m/s +-. Display shows only D when moved shifter moved to the left. Popped the shifter, pulled back the shifter panel and investigated the wires for breaks and loose connections. What I found was that the white and burgundy colored small plugs had only one male pin left in the white connector and two left in the burgundy connector. I am assuming they are supposed to have three each. Maybe a few broken pins?? So, assuming this is my problem, I set out to look for a new panel with the connectors intact. I am hoping this is they problem. 2 questions: am I on the right track here and is 51167060677 my correct part number I am looking for? I have a 2006 330ci automatic ZHP convertible with nav. Not sure if that makes a difference. I will get my profile up to date and get some pics up. Picked it up with 63k mikes. Love this car. They look so so much better than newer body styles, but would love to drive it with the sport modes and manual modes. Thanks for taking my in to the family. Can’t wait to really clean her up and drive her in the other modes.

Welcome! Unfortunately I don't know. I can take a pic of my wires if you need. Keep us posted.

Ya, I am almost positive that is my problem. Lights on the panel don’t even come on to show PRND when in those. So, I will gamble and get another shifter panel and keep you posted. Thanks.

Some connectors aren't fully populated with pins, so I wouldn't be too sure about that diagnosis.
I'd wait until John sends you pics of his connectors before you jump on that. His could very well be the same.
