Damn pollen!

Just like the title says. I don't have a garage and pollen season has started and I hate the yellow dust. Mines got s nice pollen layer. Luckily I got my detail in last week so it cleans up with rain or a rinse. It's honestly best to wash the car as seldom as possible with the pollen in full swing. It just gets everywhere, under the sponge, under the towel when drying, and forget about polishing.

I saw a picture of what pollen looks like up close on a forum somewhere. It's like it evolved specifically for the purpose of creating swirls.

Certain sealants and QDs are formulated to create a static free surface. So pollen; should theoretically not stick as fast.

You can still wash the cars; just make sure you use extra shampoo for lubricant and pre-soak multiple times. By the time you hit it with a mitt most of the pollen will be gone

But at the height of it you can see the pollen floating in the air. Once it's "off" it's right back on. There's a span of a few weeks, at least here in NJ, when it's virtually impossible to wash without introducing at least some pollen into the mix.

I'd love to see how well these sealants that resist static work.

That's why you wash in a garage ;)

I use CG QD that "says" it resists static. I have a gallon of it I bought over winter. I'll see how it goes when my car has to sit outside all summer...

It's been pollen season in the woods where I live since January's heatwave. At times you can see it as a cloud blowing in the wind. It's on everything outside. A hose on the driveway produces this yellow paste during the peak. I think I need to invest in a pressure washer so I have a chance of breathing thru my nose at some point.

I have yet to test it through summer weather...but it's amazing how fast you go through a gallon!
