Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd say hello to Dane and everyone.thanks for letting me in.

Been around BMW's my whole life and my last trackcar was a ZMCoupe which i had from new, ended up being completly converted to a S54 caged up Nürburgring monster.

I now have a 2002 E46 edition 33 touring in estoril blue which i'm going to convert to full M3 running gear.

Heres my MCoupe and the touring.

Oh man don't let @slater see that touring...

Welcome, dude! Sounds like you have a lot of knowledge to share with us. I'll start in with the questions: what exactly is an edition 33?

Edition 33's are special editions built to commemorate I think 33 years of something... I think it was 33 years of tourings.
They had a limited color set, and Estoril was one of them.

It really isn't fair that we didn't get Estoril. Or 330d tourings. :facepalm

welcome john!

first off - estoril blue is awesome. and Tourings are awesome. so an estoril blue Touring = awesome awesome.

i would, of course, be OK with you posting some more pics... ;)

also, more details on what the exact spec is, any mods, and.... oh yeah - what's your asking price? hahaha. :)

(in all seriousness though, it would be cheaper for me to repaint/wrap my Touring in estoril blue than to import one.)

besides M3 drivetrain, what else are you going to swap over? seats, suspension.......and bodywork?

too late, brah!! :wub

ha. totally not fair.

the edition 33 is indeed for 33 years of Tourings, but that first one was a 2002. history lesson....the 3er Touring was invented by a BMW employee, in the mid-80s, on his own time... cool video:

Welcome! It's always lovely to see Estoril blue e46.

More info that I found on German websites for edition 33 - only 333 examples made, all finished in Silverstone, Le Mans Blue or Estoril blue metallic, and it could be paired with any engine. Very cool. :biggrin

Which part of Germany are you from? I'm in Frankfurt.

Like Az said its the 33 year edition, you could have what ever spec you wanted to a point, individual paint etc. 1 of 333built and 1 of 103 in Estoril blue that i've worked out so far.

It's my 3rd touring, had a e30 with a S50 3.0 in it and 2 E36 complete M3 swaps one SMG so you could say i like them.
I actually hated Estoril blue on E36's (I think it was because everybody had one) but on the 46 I love it :D

318 N42 M sport,
normal extras but no heated seats and no sat nav.

Mods are as it looks as i brought it (1 week ago)
E60 wheels (won't fit with M3 axles) :( and ebay lowering kit

Plans.
S54 with 6 speed, TTV lightweight flywheel
Carbon box but painted as plastic look for that OEM look ;)
M3 axles front and rear including M3 rear floor for exhaust.
3.91 diff ratio and 60% lock
Complete polys
KW v3 suspension
AP front brakes
Scorpion back box, custom middle with little box (no rasp :rockon )

Recaro CS seats but trimmed in the Alcantara to match the interior (hate leather)
Swade steering wheel
CAE shifter

team dynamics pro race 1.2 wheels

I think thats about it :dunno

sounds like you might have thought about this project a little bit. ;)

sounds good. so no body work? assuming you will not run M3 front control arms either, because you need the wider front arches to accommodate the extra track width (or run high-offset wheels :)).

are you set on the CAE shifter? they are beautiful, but you have to cut up the console to make it fit. i'm running the RTD mini (300mm) shifter, non-reverse lockout model. it accepts an OEM shift knob too, and is about 40% of the cost of the CAE. i've had it installed for almost 4 months now and put about 10K KMs on it. love it. pic below.

PS - would love to see some pics of your previous Tourings! :)

Hi Peter.

I have thought about the RTD but not heard anything about it. Normally I run a longer shifter mounted to the chassis but then you must replace the springs in the box for harder ones.
I’ll have a look at it next week. I have to admit I like the idea of a original gearknob because I have a csl smg one with a euro coin in the top of it from my CSL 10 Years ago.

You can run the complete M3 front axle and original front M3 wheels and they fit with a slight rolled arch and a normal tire 😉

Probably bodywork will come next year anyway 🙈

I’ll dig some pictures out 👍🏻
