I already completed tasks 1 and 2 from your list. I cheated and let my body shop take care of both. The part behind the bumper grille could be replaced at the same time. It's not pricey. I wish I knew about it, I didn't replace it back then.

Knocked out everything but the aux input and lower grille. That honeycomb plastic piece is a bitch!
