Does anyone have experience reupholstering the alcantara seats in a ZHP?

I see there is a part number for the alcantara seat cover, but pulling the seat apart and tensioning all the rings looks like a huge pain. Has anyone bought the part and taken it somewhere to have them replaced?

The bolsters in my '05 coupe are getting pretty beat up and I'm looking to fix them. Hoping to get some ideas on how best to do this...

Thank you!!

Neal

You can ask Shawn - elcid86. I remember he got some fabric from a rear seat and went to an upholstery place for install. GL.

I bought a rear bolster cover from Dane and went to an Upholstery shop to get it done. The guy said it was BARELY enough but it was enough. Roughly $75 or so for the fabric, and I think it was like $200-$250 to install. The seat was removed when I took it to the shop since my Recaro was installed.

I did the same from the same donor!

Saved about $25 by removing the seat.

This is slightly related but does anyone have the upholstery code for our anthracite and alcantara seats and where to source this fabric?

Oh wait I was referring to the cloth centers. Sorry, should've been more specific.

I was thinking of redoing my leathers seats with the hexagon interior they have on the 2seriers and buy the alcantara separately .I think the blue would go nice on my mystic blue. Ive been searching n found a place where they have this fabric . They also have all different types of fabrics from other cars. I haven't contacted them so I don't know if they still have the material or whats the process on ordering n how much is yard as I havent email them to confirm. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170720/97250f2a7ee79b8592c152599a90f606.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170720/08d85d989733697e4e6991b4cd070ee1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170720/72a4d001d2df122c7c9aa6d7e362e88d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170720/ec4d0c83411510dc5601358f06392562.jpg

I have an estimate to replace the headliner on my zhp. $ 475. The man gave me a card with the color, it says 2001 graphite. Not sure what catalog he was looking into. :dunno

Yes, it started to sag. Very good match IMHO. We compared the sample with the sun visor because it was easier (thanks to daylight).

A new bmw headliner is around $1k.

I would love to just get the fabric and do it myself. Just a hard time locating it
