Anyone had issues with their harness being different from after market LED lamps? I had got Eagle eyes LED from ECS last week and seems like my harness does not match the lamp's harness. I have attached the pictures below. Kindly let me know. I have anyway sent them a mail regarding the same. Just wanted to know if there is more input on this. The lamps fit perfectly with the car. Thank you.

I have a 2005 330i. I had a look at the issue and looks like BMW changed their harness to account for a recall that was issues for overheating in tail lamps due to resistors.

The recall involving adding an ground wire to the existing harness. Some dealers also repaired the damaged connector (mine didn't).
They didn't change anything about the harness connector itself...

Yeah even mine have the additional ground wire but not sure why is my harness different.. When i look at some repair kits offered at ECS

looks like mine have Euro tail lamps (RYR) harness? Cos the 6 pin ones were there even for the 1999-2001 (pre facelift) vehicles as well i guess? Any thoughts. I thought i can reverse engineer the harness with female connectors but not sure if BMW sells them.

Your car's harness connector isn't what's wrong. The connector for the tail light is wrong.

Are you sure that's not the connector for a resistor box or something like that? My cheapo Depo LED RCRs had a connection to a resistor box, which is what ultimately plugged into my harness connector.

So I had to look at the harness before the return. The order came with resistor box built in and the outlet was supposed to plug into the vehicle harness. I had returned the lights back to ECS. I did contact Bav auto and they told me that I had a Euro harness connector (8 pin) and the LED lights offered come with US connector (6 pin) and the only option is to engineer a harness that can interface between them or go with Euro tail lights. Trying to figure out today if i can get the female connector for that 8 pin set up.

6-pin? That doesn't make any sense; I thought that was a pre-facelift connector. All the facelift sedan cars have the 8-pin from what I've seen...

They need to send you compatible lights for a 2002-2005 sedan.

I spoke to Khoalty customer care yesterday and they said EE would fit. But just a little concerned, can you please let me know if someone in the forum has had similar lights installed in their zhp? Thank you.

A ton of people have them, and none have posted about issues like this.
