I posted this somewhere else in a response to another thread, but I love this car so I'm going to give it it's own thread/picture. :-)

definitely a unique ride, that goes for any triumphs.

Unique is correct. Only 2500 of these made. They have the Buick 215cc V8 (2.5L) that Triumph bought from them... Rover eventually picked it up and has used a form of that for years, going up to a 4.0L. John

I love old Triumphs. I've messed with several TR-4s, TR-6s, TR-250s, and even a Stag. I have even seen a TR4 with a blown Chevy big block in it.

Sent from my rooted Fascinate. Hacked Droid FTW!

Definitely love those. Us TR8 (and TR7) owners are the bastard children of Triumphs. Many Triumph owners used to literally snub their noses at our cars because they were such a departure from Triumphs of the past... not to mention, the TR7, while handled well, really were engineering disasters. That American V8 really changed the car. John

Yeah and I was kind of one of those guys... Had a 76 TR6 stage III motor ( cams, trip webers, valves, springs, electronic ignition, ported&polished etc), did some suspension work but don't recall all details. Car looked stock but went like a bat out of h..ll. But I remember when the TR7 came out and no one knew what to make of them. Sold that car in about 83 or so as I recall.
