Tired of dad bashing up my 17's! Will this 16" option work? 325it Sport Package

My dad has a 2005 325it Sport Package. He messed up the original 17" wheels & needed tires so I lent him my set of 17's. Now they're all curbed up as well. I have another set of BMW Style 268s which measure 16x7 ET31. I know I can run 225/50/16s, but I'd like the most protection from curbs as possible for his driving style. Can I get away with 245/50/16s without rubbing? Car is all stock.

Yup. Had that size on my 16x7 Mustang Pony wheel. Also says it's good to go on TireRack's website.

Ok I went with 225/50-16s. Fit nice & meaty. Still tuck in fenders.
