Long story short I sold my MKV Rabbit 8 months ago and have been looking for a suitable DD replacement. First I was looking at MK6 GTI's but the price was as much as a F30 BMW so I started looking at BMW's. Then I found F30 manuals do not exist so I then started looking at E90's. Then the problem was most of them are old and beat. Now I am thinking about just getting a second ZHP to daily.

I'm open to suggestions on what to get but have a list of requirements.

1. 4 Doors, wife's requirement, not mine :( but I have to follow suit since I already have a coupe
2. Manual
3. RWD or AWD
4. Price, I have been all over the board on this but I'm looking at 8k-16k
5. Clean. I don't want some beat up mess of a car.

I have been looking at so many different cars I'm getting to the point where I just want something.

Why don't you just daily your ZHP?

Oh, didn't realize you had a 2-door variant. My bad.

Just get another e46, can find a nice 325i manual for decent prices these days

I would go with another e46 unless you don't want a similar vehicle. But then that has its benefits.

Also with your budget, you can get a really clean example.

I got a 325xi as a winter car.
Probably would have just gone with a 325i if I had to do it again.
Not many other cars satisfy for the price, that's why I went E46 for additional car.
Oh, plus also knowing the quirks of the E46 and already having tools to work on another E46 helps!

I've been thinking about a used 6speed X3 or X5 when the lease is up on my truck next year to go along with my zhp vs getting another new truck.

I'm sure you could find one eventually. I've seen some nice 2006 330i's out there.

maybe...Subaru Legacy?

I know they are around you just may have to look hard for one.

Great choice for a DD if you can find them. I drove one for three years, it was a stick non-sport pack car. Phenomenal mileage considering the size of it, I averaged 27 MPG.

I miss mine.

I ended up buying an 04 Imola Sedan this weekend. I am pretty excited to have a coupe and sedan.

Nice! Congrats.

"ZHP is a garbage option anyway- just some cosmetic upgrades with a different cam and diff to claw back some of the performance lost fitting those hideous and heavy wheels. Any 330 with a 3.46 diff will smoke a ZHP every time. The whole Mafia thing reeks of childish behavior." - anonymous E46 fanatic
