Hi all,

New user here and going to ask the main reason why I have been searching out BMW forums recently. I did a search and nothing came up related to my question.

Do the xenon headlights "wear out" or get "dimmer" over time? I am the original owner of my ZHP and I could swear that the low beams on my car lit up the road a lot better than they do now. Not sure how much is the plastic lens or if it is the bulb. When I put the high beams on, I can see great, but with low beams only I can't see the road well at all. I am using my fog lights to supplement the low beams all the time know.

Is it just my imagination? or do the xenon bulbs get weaker with age? If the latter, what are my options or replacing/upgrading the bulbs? Can I just replace the bulb or do I need to replace more than that? Not sure if it matters, but my headlights are auto-leveling.

Thanks for any advice.

If there is a mod who can move stuff, I have realized there is a "lighting" section that this should be in.

Sorry for not realizing there was a better place to ask this question.

And of course as a noob, I have found more threads than I can count about this problem had I realized there was a "lighting" section. Should have done a search across the entire forum instead of just the "maintenance" section.

If there is a mod, you can delete this entire thread...

Yup, burnt ZKWs are most likely your issue. Tons of threads, but it seems you've found them.
