Other than the fact that you're missing a third pedal, no it's not a problem at all. I recommend you leave it in steptronic mode though...

No problem Love. Don't let the "3 pedal" guys get to ya. My old Bimmer was an auto....and I loved it. Its all good.

Take whatever BP says with a grain of salt.

I just received this PM....

"hi how are you?..just a quick question...off hand do you know of any NYC members who are really really familiar with zhp's to a point that they could do a once over on mine and let me know if anything needs to be done...so far I've read a ton of threads pertaining to 60k mile preventative maintenance....belts...oils...flushing fluids etc...mine has 50 k and is going thru the service center from which is was bought and they said all it needs is new brakes..im always sketchy when it comes to stuff like that so sometimes i feel they wont be telling me everything and i wouldn't know where to begin to find out what might need some attention ...thanks for your help...

im not selling but i know when people buy bmws they get PPI'S...should i just get one even though im not selling just so they can tell me everything i need to know about what might need attention....thanks again"

Anyone willing to help?

thanks dane...yes id like to try and have this done asap because im scheduled to go back in for new brakes within the next week or so...as stated in the above post ive been doing alot of reading here and it looks like ill be doing alot of preventative maintenance soon...id like for someone to give my car a once over so when i do go back to the dealership i can try and have them do some of the stuff that might need attention instead of just waiting til 60k...i had mentioned to the service center guy about flushing/changing fluids etc and he gave me some type of answer to the effect of " you dont need to do that yet "...he went over the car fixed a couple of minor details changed the oil and told me basically all i needed was new brakes and he had to order them...i didnt want to wait so i told him i would come back...id like to go back with a nice list of what needs attention and have them take care of it due to the fact i just bought the car and thats why everything should be taken care of...any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

First, I am by no means a mechanical whiz kid when it comes to BMWs. However, I do do all of my own maintenance and have learned much over the years about the e46 platform. I would be more than happy to meet with and talk to our friend about preventative maintenance and the weak points of our cars. While I could look over the suspension, brakes, rotors, belts, pulleys etc, I certainly would not be able to do the same type of in depth diagnostics a BMW service center can do. I simply don't have the expertise or the tools. Again, would be happy to meet with him/her.

Lol, my pleasure, sweet ride. Hey, in addition to the valve cover gasket, rear diff check, brakes, possibly rotors, ask them if they will replace or give you a good deal on new tires. I'm just a bit concerned about the cracking on a couple of the tires. Can't hurt to ask. Otherwise, the thing is beast. One love, my G
