$500 is actually semi reasonable in this crazy world of BMW Performance parts pricing.

I paid 400-500 for mine in mint condition. I think a mint example is worth 500 but not a dime more at current market pricing.

I saw a BMW Performance muffler sell (~5k miles) for $490 on CL.
I guess if it says "BMW Performance" it's gold.

Someone recently had a BMWP exhaust (muffler) for sale on E46F and wanted 600-700 for it I believe. Again, way over priced

Crazy but (unfortunately) reasonable for the intake. Ridiculously stupid for the exhaust.

Seller's market, I guess.
But because I'm procrastinating, let's say $500 the intake or the exhaust, a BMW claimed 3 hp @ 6,000 RPM for the intake and 5 hp @ 6,000 RPM yields a positively cheap $167/hp for the intake or $100/hp for the exhaust. Or said another way, a net hp increase of ~3.4% for both -> ((243-235)/235)*100% = 3.4%

The intakes are rare, hard to find for sale, and add a distinctive look. You can't really get that exact OEM engine bay eye candy. The exhaust is a bolt-on muffler, those are not rare nor unique, and the difference is minimal. Add to that that you can pay a lot less for any number of mufflers that duplicate what the Perf Exhaust does. The look nor what it provides is unique. Plus, they were selling for $80. I could go on but you get my point.

Totally agree. I wish I had bought and horded a BMW performance intake for myself several years ago when they were cheap. The strut tower brace too.

I bought my BMW Performance intake from ECS Tuning back when they were doing that fire sale a few years back, and I wanna say I paid under $300 for it. Which at the time, I thought was insane, now it's $500 used...crazy

I agree with Rando...both are good looking parts...I didn't realize BMW advertised 5hp for the muffler...I highly doubt that on our cars

Yup, the BMWP intake was $300 during the BMW fire sale.

"ZHP is a garbage option anyway- just some cosmetic upgrades with a different cam and diff to claw back some of the performance lost fitting those hideous and heavy wheels. Any 330 with a 3.46 diff will smoke a ZHP every time. The whole Mafia thing reeks of childish behavior." - anonymous E46 fanatic

I think I paid $249 for mine, shipped. It takes a WIX 46301 filter element for reference. They're cheaper than the stock filter.
