This morning I went to start my car and as soon as starter clicked once, everything shut off.
I tried to repeat the procedure and and I got the same results every time.
The key in position one turns on the lights on the dash as usual and when I turn the key to position two, all the lights flicker on the dash and the interior light dims. key returns to position 1, the lights come back on as with the interior light.

I was able to test the voltage with the OBC
On position 1, it reads 12.6. On position 2, it flickers so hard to read but almost zero like .6-.7

Tried to jump start with my wife's Tiguan but didn't work...
Could this be the ignition switch? Bad battery?
Also I replaced the driver's airbag few days ago as part of the recall. Could this be replated?

Sorry, man. I can't offer a lot of help. Is it getting cold over there ? I heard weak batteries will fail when temps drop. Years ago, I had a Ford Tempo. It didn't start one day after work, so my friend helped me to jump start it. No success. I called a mobile mechanic and he found my battery was totally dead, not even another battery could help it. GL.

I bet it's the Battery. I had the same exact thing happen to our 4Runner and the battery was 12.5v. Tried to jump it and nothing. Turns out it had a dead short inside the battery. Autozone, Checkers or Pep Boys can test it if you take the battery down to them. Good luck...

Probably a bricked battery

I'm with the rest of the members so far: check your battery.

I am going to say battery too. I just recently had to replace mine and had some similar symptoms but mine started while driving!

Yepp it was the battery!
I tested the old one with multimeter and showed 12.6. I put the key on position 1 and measured 11.5.
Took the battery out and had it tested at a local Pepboys and sure enough, they sentenced it dead.
Got a Bosch battery (hope this a good one) off their shelf and installed it. The car starts right away.
Thanks everyone for their sugerstions! I am very happy to put the ZHP on the road again.
