Hello Mafia!
It's a bit of a long story as to how I became a ZHP owner, so I'll keep it brief. Just a few months ago my 1997 E39 with 240+k miles on it bit the dust on the very day I had listed it for sale. I'd been advised by a close (and now sadly deceased) friend weeks earlier to look at the E46's because of their strong reputation. I briefly considered an M3 but decided the maintenance was too detailed and expensive for me. So I started looking at the ZHPs. Lo and behold I found one — a 2005 black on black convertible with just over 50k miles on it that was in great shape (was my buddy chanelling my car search?!). It was in Florida and I soon bought it after a PPI was performed. That was at the end of June, just a couple of weeks before I was to be married overseas. I had the dealership hold onto the car until August and then had the car shipped to Santa Fe, NM - where my wife and I would meet it. I'd had it delivered to a BMW indy shop called Ian's Garage so that all the fluids could be changed. Ian is a great guy and I hightly reccomend him for anyone in the area. We had a fantastic drive back to California through the Southwest and the ZHP was a complete blast to drive! I don't think I've ever owned such a nice car before and I really enjoy its performance.
I spent a lot of time on this forum before I ever saw the car and I really appreciate all of your contributions to the site. Its a great resource.
Cheers,
Ross
