Finally have enough money to swap out my current wheel setup(selling the 135s to my brother) but I need help choosing between a couple options:
I'm between BBS CH and OZ Ultraleggera(pictures below)
Wheels will be fitted onto the ZHP in my signature, keeping in mind that it is TiAg, any ideas on either which ones you prefer/best finishes? I'm trying to move away from the all silver look that I have right now and most likely move to something darker

OZ Ultraleggera
26606
BBS CH
26607

Thanks!

BBS! Personally, I don't think the OZ's look right on an E46.

Oz wheels are somewhat fragile as well.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from, I've seen them a lot on Subarus and likewise

Oh awesome I wasn't aware of that, thanks!

I like the BBS between those two. The BBs is not all that light though IIRC, which is too bad as they are not cheap.

But they are durable as hell. My wheels have taken severe abuse in the previous owner's possession, and I was able to have them fixed without issue. Bends that would have totaled other wheels. Not these... And they're still solid as fawk. Love my BBS'.

Yes, I've heard good things about their durability.

Thanks guys, I think I'm definitely going to end up going with BBS, other than the heavier weight are there any other downsides to them? And how much do you think it would cost to powder coat the bright silver wheels just in case I want to go darker, something like anthracite?

Late to the game but yeah, BBS is my preference!

BBS, all the way with a red-hot poker (bonus points if you know what movie that's from).

I have a set of CH's on order myself for my new Golf R, 18x8, 5x112, ET50. They are on national backordered, nobody knows when they are coming. So I wait.

At one point, I really wanted the OZ Formula HLT but then everyone was saying how they don't hold up well...

BBS for sure! I have a set I'm trying to get rid of if you're interested. ;)

Can absolutely NEVER go wrong with BBS. I had stellar dealings with BBS USA when I was refinishing my CHs. They sold me metal valve stems, new CF caps, and locking rings and were super nice/responsive/healthful.

The OZs, while also a good wheel company, don't look like they are "at home" on an e46.

Plenty of options with BBS, don't feel like the CH wheel is your only one. I enjoy my wheels, but I'll get new ones at some point, and something that's 3pc

I wish I could afford the other great BBS wheels, I really want to LM's but I don't see that happening anytime soon sadly. I've got a budget of around $2K and it's hard to find them under that price

Well now that I've had the time to look around some more I've started seeing a lot of VMR CSL pictures flying around, enough for me to add it to my options list which now consists of BBS CH, BBS LM(if only), and VMR V710
Does anybody know if a square set of 18x8.5 will fit my car? Currently running 225/40Z18 in the front and 255/35Z18 in the back(Michelin pilot super sports)
I can't find any VMR's that are 18x8, so would 18x8.5s be ok on the front?

Stock Zhp rear wheels are 18x8.5 I think and some run on a squared 18x8.5 square set up, so you should be ok but also depends on the off set... I would still pick bbs ch..

Haha I know, it just depends on how much I can dish out at once on a new set of wheels, still need some leftovers to last me till winter for gas money ;)

18x8.5 is fine in the front as long as it's not a crazy offset. I have 18x8.5 in the front with et35 offset and it's just fine - no rub in the front. It's only the rears you need to worry about; et40 and below will probably rub without a fender roll if your car is lowered - mine did.

Ok my car is lowered currently, and I was planning on rolling my back fenders anyway so that works out lol. But that helps a lot thanks, I need to do more research into the whole offset thing

I run 18 x 8.5 square 245/35 on the 135 wheels, lowered, rolled fenders, spacers.

I had LM's on my '10 Mini Cooper S, the precursor to my ZHP. Pulling out of a parking space at the gym one night, dude in a nice Benz rolls down his window and asks "are those REAL LM's?". I nod and say "yep". He gets that impressed look on his face, smiles & drives off.

BBS is the shiznit on any German car. BBS LM's are the holy grail. And that wheel has been around since the '90s.

Actually to be honest not as much of a fan, there's that subtle difference that keeps me from wanting them over the CH's

Hey man! I'm currently running a set of EC-7s on my lowered ZHP. 18x9 et42 square (255/35 Hankoonk V12s). The front has a 3mm spacer to clear the coilover but other than that, I haven't had any issues with fitment. Apex runs group buys on their website, be sure to keep an eye out for one! I believe you can get up to $200 off of a set with free shipping if there are enough participants. Best of luck! :)

This one shows the front before I lowered it just a tad for summer. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160805/56383b4522c16c966abbf6fc9ca6cd01.jpg

Wow they look amazing! And that's good to hear that there are no fitment issues, are you rolled at all? I have heard about these group buys, maybe I'll have to start a thread sooner or later and see if people that didn't do the last one(like myself) would want in. Thanks!
