Certainly isn't much left of the Lotus. Both cars totaled, though.

Our cars just became a little more rare.

It looks like it's not even on the rollbars. Just the A-pillars holding it up. Impressive!

whats crazy is i was enjoying dinner that night rather close to where it happened and left shortly before the 10 p.m. time they reported too. wow. scary. glad everyone is okay.

Something tells me the Lotus owner was hauling ass.

Judging by the photos, the Lotus front end hit the Bimmers right front quarter panel and bumper hard enough to trigger the BMW DS airbag, AND flip the car, too. I'm guessing the Lotus driver was hauling tail, hit the brakes HARD, and submarined right under the verts right front end.

One of the features I LOVE about Bimmers is their composure under hard braking. Two weeks ago a deer ran right in front of my ZHP, while I was going about 50mph. Conventional wisdom says to drive through the animal, and not brake or swerve. I braked, and hit the deer with very little speed, knocked the poor animal ars over elbows (it righted itself and ran off), and had only a bit of grease on my DS headlight cover to show for it. In any other car, such a move would have put that deer in my lap, and me back in my ICU as a customer!

ZHP = money well-spent. :)
